Thankful for the team at MOC helping us with some last minute (<30days til) rentals for our outdoor wedding in Normandy, TN. Everything we rented was great quality, well cared for, and the pricing was affordable! Such a wide inventory variety of things to rent as well which I think helped personalize our wedding ceremony & reception layout that much more. Master of Ceremonies Inc. provided us exceptional service and friendliness for a recent family wedding. The big tent they set up for our creekside wedding was not only gorgeous but also sturdy. Additionally, their provision of tables and chairs, china, glassware, and eating utensils contributed to creating a lovely and elegant wedding atmosphere. They certainly met our needs to make a wedding day special and memorable for all.

7 months before our event I got quotes from 4 or 5 tent rental companies. When I chose to put a deposit on the rental from Master of Ceremonies I called to book my reservation (and paid almost half of the estimated total cost). I was unable to write down a confirmation number, and erroneously assumed I would be sent an invoice or written confirmation of some kind. 2 months before the event, we wanted to add chairs and tables to our order, so I began searching my email folder (where I had kept all event-related correspondences) and physical folder (where I had other written invoices for the event) and found nothing about the tent rental company. I called all the tent rental companies in the area to see if I had a reservation with them, and when none of them came back affirmative I booked a tent rental through a second company.

I take full responsibility for the fact that I could have prevented this miscommunication by taking better records of our phone call, and I am out $325 because of it.

4 days before the event I was contacted by Master of Ceremonies to confirm the reservation. I explained what happened and informed them that we were going to use the other company who we felt had communicated more clearly with us and with whom we had a written invoice from.

I cannot comment on the quality of service performed by Master of Ceremonies, but I can comment on the quality of customer care that was shown to me. It was easily the worst customer service I have been shown by a small-business owner in the Middle Tennessee area. I had to ask twice to speak with the owner, and when I was connected with her, she interrupted me three times (to tell me that this was how they had done business for years, that it is their regular policy to not send out written confirmation of reservations, and to reiterate to me that I had made a reservation) before I could explain that my mistake made both of us lose out on money and offer a suggestion that they consider sending out confirmation emails.

I did not want to attack the owner or her business for my mistake, but I genuinely wanted to explain that this was an honest mistake on my part, that I did call around and try to rectify it before booking another company, and that we both could have done different things (I could have kept a record of the phone call; the company could have sent a confirmation) to prevent it from happening. The owner's tone of voice made it clear to me that she did not want to have a conversation that involved empathy and a desire to understand what had caused the miscommunication.

After this phone call it was clear that we made a better choice by renting from a different company that took the time to simply listen to their customers.

I am in the middle of planning a wedding, and my mind is 4,000 different places at once. When I called Master of Ceremonies to ask a simple question, I became bombarded with word vomit. The person on the phone walked me through step-by-step to figure out exactly what I needed. I immediately felt a sense of calm and we were able to discuss several details for my big day! We can’t wait to use them for our wedding!

Chairs seemed to have been used for an outdoor party and were quite dirty on the legs. Mud and maybe beer. Delivered as expected with advance notice, on pick up they called from the driveway. Fortunately my wife was working from home today.

Hopefully next year we will get clean items.
