I just wanted to share what an amazing time I had during my recent trip to Texas! I came all the way from out of state and spent a few days soaking in the local vibes, but the highlight had to be my day spent horse riding. It was honestly the perfect way to experience the beauty of the area.

The experience was incredible, and I couldn’t have asked for better day spent. Most of the workers I met were kind and welcoming. A huge shoutout to Natasha (I believe that's how you spell her name) for being absolutely wonderful and an amazing lead throughout the day. Her enthusiasm and kindness made the ride even more special!

And let's talk the horse—Shotgun! He was fantastic, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner on the trail. Riding him was such a thrill, and he made the whole experience unforgettable.

I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again!

I made the trip down from Aubrey based on the high ratings and we were not disappointed! I wanted to surprise my wife with a trail ride for her birthday. For context, it's been years since we've ridden and we consider ourselves novice riders. My wife was able to choose her own horse and the staff handled all of the preparations for the ride. It was very easy for us to get set up and riding! Additionally we were split into several groups for the ride, giving us a much more private experience. The ride itself was through well maintained state property with pretty views of Lake Grapevine. Hats off to Marshall Creek Ranch for giving us a memorable experience!

My family drove 2.5 hours to come ride horses for a horrible experience. We could have went to the other place. I thoroughly read the website during my research phase of planning our trip since my family is traveling. Over the phone I made the reservations and was asked about my child's skill level. He's been riding since 6 y/o, now 12. Everything was explained to me, even double explained and I said I understood. On our day of travel we stopped for lunch before heading to the ranch and was told to confirm we were still coming. I did confirm. I got a text saying that I did not confirm and my reservation could be released. I tried calling and no one answered as the VM said the horses were resting, but they insisted we text instead. Someone called me and I told them I would be there early and they said I could handle payment upon arrival. When we arrived I showed the girl at the desk my text confirmation went through on my side. She didn't even look up to acknowledge it. I took my money out and tried paying her and with my wad of money held out for her to take, she said sign these papers for the adults and the child. I had a very uncomfortable feeling FOR SURE at this point. I would've left if it weren't for my child. There was another group with kids so the other lady called them over to be fitted for helmets. My child went back on his own and told them his needed to be adjusted because the fit wasn't right. We went to the restroom and while I was in there, I heard the same rude lady asking my child if he had been on horses before. He said yes. She asked, "How many times" and then asked "Had he trotted before". I couldn't believe she was saying anything to him. She waited until I was away from him and came way across the building to ask A CHILD! He confirmed everything I already confirmed as the adult responsible. When I came out of the restroom I was refused service and told I couldn't get my money back, but that I could call the owner another day and ask. I said the police will be here if I am not given the money back I just gave you. She said she had to "step outside" to call the owner which she also said when I first arrived and tried to pay her as if something was wrong with us, but I didn't think anything of it at the time. Needless to say, I left with my money and we didn't get to ride horses. We wasted time on our trip and money going there. The lady said he has never had lessons with them so he couldn't go on the ride. That is not on their website. It is open for anyone to sign up and the different levels are explained. We are too advanced to go on most rides when we travel so we sign up for intermediate. It wasn't even the experienced level. I believe she took one look at us and prejudged us as if we cant have experience with horses as well. Just to mention, the other children in the group were not asked these questions upon arrival or pulled to the side to get more info when their parents were around. We camp, fish, and ride horses on a regular basis. I'm disgusted at how we were treated, just post a sign saying you discriminate off the basis of your own prejudice, it would've saved us a lot of time. Attached proof he’s been riding since 6 years old, no we didn’t get on any horses the day of our reservation. Looking at the reviews they discriminate on people and are rude to many. Steer clear from this place!!!! It’s too much money to be treated unfairly.

Was visiting for the weekend, went on a trail ride at Marshall Creek Ranch and hope to be able to come back sometime! It was a fantastic trail ride. They are very organized, they keep the groups small and to the right experience level. I did the intermediate walk/trot ride and it was awesome. The horses are great, very comfortable ride and a good amount of time out on the trail. I try to go on a trail ride anytime in a new city and this was one of the very best I've been on. Wonderful experience, highly recommend.

Hands down the best experience I've had on Horseback in a while! Loved the fact that they have different levels for riding. Price is excellent for what you get! Shandra and the team were awesome and it's awesome to meet fellow riders in your group. Im glad I was able to catch the evening ride before the time change. Best way to wind down on a Friday. Will definitely be coming back!

Good for my cousin who doesn't know anything about horses and was fine enough otherwise. The guides weren't very welcoming on arrival but my front guide and I got along on the trail. I was very surprised at the use of a cattle show stick as "encouragement" for the horses used by the back guide (pictured for those curious). I've been around horses since I was 6, guided horseback trails for 7 years, and have shown nationally and have never seen a need for a cattle show stick that other, more appropriate aids and training could accomplish.

Overall, probably wouldn't return but would be decent for other people and the horses were in fine care as far as I could tell.

We enjoyed the intermediate ride and even though we've never trotted before it was easy enough to learn and they did it in short spurts throughout the ride. The horses and ground were nice and well kept. The scenery wasn't anything super spectacular, but seemed typical of Texas and the trails did cross a small creek numerous times. Overall a great family time!

Shandra was absolutely amazing and the horses she put us on were calm and responsive to their riders unlike most tourist horseback riding ranches I’ve been too. I was a wrangler and lead trail guide for years up in PA, so as an experienced rider I was afraid of being bored but all of the staff on our ride were amazing and the scenery and pictures were to die for and even me (who spends 4 hrs most days in a saddle had a blast). If you’re thinking of booking a ride but don’t want a lead line 25 cent rocking horse outside the gas station ride definitely book it! Then you can go home and actually said you rode a horse instead of just saying you sat on a half dead one🩵
