We had a great time aboard the Discovery. The Captain and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The crab experience was fun (dropping the crab pot and learning about the crab etc.). My family and I really enjoyed ourselves. We did get to see a grey whale, which was one of two that frequent that area off the coast. I highly recommend this experience!

Amazing experience , my wife, two daughters and I had the best time. Seabass was especially knowledgeable and wasn’t afraid to admit when he didn’t know something. Captains were amazing and let my girls captain the ship !

The entire crew was phenomenal. From check in to captain to sea crew seriously phenomenal. They were very considerate, friendly, educational, and hilarious! Experienced sailors, providing a great ride even in really choppy water. My little honeschooler and I learned a lot. Holding a crab was exhilarating. Best money you can spend on newport!

My family and I went on this cruise and was very impressed with how educational and fun it was. The narrator did a great job informing us about the history of Newport, the boats in the area, sea life, and much more.

My son was able to see a whale for the first time, which was very exciting! My boyfriend was able to partake in the crabbing demonstration, as well as help retrieve the crab pots later on. In the end, we caught a few crabs, studied plankton under a microscope, and witnessed a few whales; all of which made for an exciting day. I would definitely recommend this cruise!

I looked all over for a tour I felt safe taking my 4 year old on. This tour was amazing, we got to see a grey whale, throw crab pots and see baby jellyfish. My son hasn’t stopped talking about it and neither have we! Thank you to Captain Rick and staff for being so awesome!

We had a great time on Marine Discovery Tours! We left from the port next to the sea lions, so we got a great look & listen! The waves were too big to go whale hunting, but we really enjoyed casting the crab pots & unloading them to find a nice variety of crabs. The crew educated us about the differences and passed them around to hold. They also trawled for plankton & placed some on a microscope slide for us to examine. Ryan was a great captain and allowed passengers to steer the ship. The entire crew was personable and cared about our safety, as well as our enjoyment of the cruise.

We have toured 7-8 times, and each time has been great! The crew is always very friendly and helpful, as well as very informative. This last time, we went out on 9/9/23 and spent most of our time watching one whale that was feeding very close to the boat. Amazing!!

Did in family with 7y old boy. Well organised, safe and dedicated team. Activities details and information on marine animals and area given throughout the tour. We had the chance to observe whales from far obviously but it was a fantastic tour. The activities for kids were also very appreciated. Strongly recommended if you are around.
