Great spot to stop and visit. Alot to see. Rangers were excellent and super helpful with information about the area (we needed camping & restaurant info) and interesting knowledge of the history. The spring is a sight to see! Quite a marvel. The train depot was really well restored and the tour was great! Some really detailed audio displays that were cool to listen to throughout the complex. Definitely take the time to do it the guided depot tour. The hatchery had a lot of interesting artifacts in it also. Incredibly helpful staff all around! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

At the visitor center the do allow one night overnight parking for your camper - which was super helpful as we spent much more time exploring then we had planned! Try out Fred’s Fish House while in town too!

If you’re looking for a place where nature and history collide Mammoth Spring State Park is your spot! Imagine a spring so massive it could fill a million bathtubs an hour.
The walking paths are like a treasure hunt, leading you to quirky artifacts like an old train depot and a cannon. It’s like stepping into a time machine, but without the risk of accidentally inventing disco.
The visitor center is a goldmine of fun facts and trivia. Did you know the spring flows at 9 million gallons per hour? That’s enough water to fill an Olympic swimming pool faster than you can say “synchronized swimming”! ?‍♂️?‍♀️
Picnic areas are top-notch, with tables so clean you could eat off them (but please use a plate, you savages). The playground is a kid’s dream come true, and the fishing spots are so good, even the fish are lining up to be caught. ?
In short, Mammoth Spring State Park is wrapped in natural beauty. Whether you’re a history buff, a nature lover, or just someone who enjoys a good picnic, this park has got you covered.

Great great beautiful place to stop. Has a beautiful paved trail that goes around the spring I went there in the middle of the week and then on the weekend. It was very empty during the middle of the week and even on Saturday it was busy but still not too many people I mean it's crazy how peaceful this place is. And it's huge on the back side there is another parking lot with a place where are the kids can play. I also saw picnic tables plenty of parking very beautiful

This is a great place to visit. It's also a great place to have a picnic. And after that you can have a nice stroll around the lake. You can walk across the dam and see the old power plant. It's a very beautiful experience. I got to see it when the lake was drained earlier this year to try to control vegetation. Even then it was a fun place to visit. You'll find the folks and The visitor center to be extremely helpful and informative. There's a nice museum on the other side of the lake.

We got there late one afternoon, the pond was empty, machines scraping out aquatic plants. The next afternoon just before the train station museum closed and was amazed, the pond was full and running over the dam. Went into Museum and got the best tour of the place one could get. Spared not a word even though it was way past closing time. Great Place!

This is a beautiful state park boasting one of the largest springs in the world, producing 9 million gallons of water per hour. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. There's an awesome gift shop for souvenirs. You can view an old power station and the first dam on the Spring River. There are places to picnic and fish. A playground with swings. It has an interpretive hiking trail around a lake, including an old train depot. Trains still run through here. Be careful around the tracks. The fishing is outstanding with plenty of trout and bass here and further downstream as well. You can spend hours exploring this family-friendly park and even learn about history and geology. It is near lodging, restaurants, camping, canoeing, and other state parks.

Millions of gallons of water per hour. Serene and abundance of wildlife. Free to public. Park closes at dark and gift shop/bathrooms at 5pm. Folks were fishing below the dam and lots of people walking around & enjoying nature.
Spent about 1.5 hours there slowly making the loop and taking in the area. Worth stopping by.
