The amount of growth that's happened over the past four years is amazing. I just hope the things that make it unique aren't forgotten. Some of these locations pictured are currently vacant but I wanted to capture them to see what the city does with the space latter.

There was a local car show today. It was great getting a chance to photograph some fantastic cars and get a chance to talk to some of the owners. All of them were great & willing to give some background information on their vehicles

I had no idea Downtown Wetumpka had so much to offer. Absolutely fell in love with the town! So many cool shops and places to eat and drink. So much history also! And the people are so nice! Everywhere you go you meet the friendliest people full of smiles. The buildings are gorgeous and have so much character. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this little gem of a town. Can’t wait to go back!!!

This little gem is packed with near shops, good food and amazing history! Made over in 2020 for the inaugural season of Home Town Takeover, they have continued to grow and improve! Several movies have been filmed there over the years, including the popular Tim Burton movie, “Big Fish”. The Big Fish house is visible all over town on a hill behind the popular Grumpy Dog, Hot Fogs and more housed on a vintage gas station. There is signage throughout town indicating where in town various movies were filmed. There’s a wonderful art gallery there that recently relocated from a block away. It features mostly art by the numerous very talented artists in the area. This gallery has one of the best views of the Coosa River, and is beside a marker about the meteor that struck this area millions of years age. I could go on and on, but you need to see for yourself! This town is definitely a must see small town, especially for HGTV fans!

A Dickens Christmas in downtown Wetumpka was great. It was a beautiful evening. Just cool enough. The shops were open as were the restaurants. Lots of people in period costumes. A tradition I hope they continue.
