This is a must experience, not fast pace but really nice horses and team that manage. Lots of horses.?the one hour tour is more than enough due to horses walking slow. Very nice for a family as well. Great nature scenery as well

This was our second visit to McDonald’s Ranch, and we absolutely love it! The scenery is breathtaking, making for a beautiful and peaceful ride through the desert. The horses are incredibly well-trained, making it an enjoyable experience for riders of all skill levels.

The staff is friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. Our guide, Lauren, was amazing—so sweet, knowledgeable, and made our ride an absolute delight. She ensured we were comfortable and made the experience even more enjoyable with her kind and positive attitude.

If you’re looking for a fantastic horseback riding experience in Arizona, McDonald’s Ranch is the place to go. We can’t wait to come back!

Such an fun, special experience and kind staff. Thank you Kylie for being so responsive and fitting me in same day! Had the opportunity to check out the ranch yesterday and boy was it fun. From the second you step foot on the ranch, it feels like you jump back in time. The property well maintained preserving that old time western feel. The horses seemed so happy and healthy. I got paired up with Clifford. I was stoked. He kept me honest on the ride and I learned A LOT. No day dreams…. At least not yet. Respect and attentiveness seemed to be the trick. Thank you for the awesome experience. Shout out Kyle, pocket chicken (Dawnielle), and Clifford, of course.

What a delightful place for wholesome family fun. We enjoyed seeing the horses and the petting zoo. A big space to run around and play games. Perfect place for unique pictures if you are from out of town. A must do for young kids.

MacDonald’s Ranch was a pleasure! I had researched many horse ranches, around the valley, for horseback riding. I was looking, specifically, for a place that not only had horses to ride but was genuinely friendly and had a story to share about their ranch and horses there.

From my first visit, just to see the lay of the land, until I left the parking lot after my first ride I was impressed by the customer care and attention. The horses appear happy and well cared for and the trail ride was just as advertised. Easy enough for a first timer and mostly flat terrain through the Sonoran desert.

A special shout out to Kelcie who answered ALL of my questions from my first visit, with a smile and genuinely kind demeanor to Mia and Danielle who managed our group with professionalism, wit and experience.

I got exactly what I was looking for (a gorgeous ride in the desert on a sweet horse) and will be a repeat customer, no doubt.

Last, Kelcie was sure to let me know about the new babies that had just been born and just where to see them. What an extra special treat.

We hosted my daughter’s 3rd birthday here and we couldn’t have been happier. The venue was perfect and the staff were beyond helpful, even with event set-up!

We’ve also been countless times for their October pumpkin fest and we love it!

I visit the ranch often, for the pumpkin patch, a horseback ride (beautiful Sonoran trails on the property), or sometimes just to take the kids to the free petting zoo and play the games. Their horses are well trained, and the ranch hands do a great job keeping everyone safe and matching the riders to an appropriate horse. There are plenty of spots to have a lunch and the bathrooms are clean. They even donated a trail ride to my sons school raffle basket. They truly are a staple in the community for North Scottsdale and Cave Creek.
