Lately, I've been stopping here during long training runs. The staff are friendly, they have a small fridge of fairly priced cold drinks, a bottle filling station, clean bathrooms. Plus some neat displays and cool merch. If I had to change one thing, it would be to add some pedestrian access from the South.

Great place to take a break while hiking or gear up for your trip. Clean bathrooms and lots of information. I'd prefer it was a bit bigger and had some more picnic seating but overall an awesome visitor center.

I've been an annual family pass holder at Lory State for the past two years. My family really enjoyed spending time there, and planned on buying annual passes for the forseeable future.
QHowever, today I had my first interaction with the Rangers. Due to the rude, condescending, predatory, and threatening attitude of the three Rangers I dealt with, over a minor misunderstanding, I will not come back or buy another pass from them.
I'm not going to write a book about my whole experience, but basically I thought I could make a copy of my family annual pass, but I was supposed to have the original. Instead of explaining my mistake and treating me like a reasonable person (not to mention a continual patron), the rangers were rude and condescending about telling me the correct rules, and charged me for a daily pass even though I was leaving. Then, as I drove away from the window, another ranger stuck his head out and yelled that he would ticket me if I ever made this mistake again.
Not a good way to keep customers, or to treat people in general.

Wonderful exhibit with information on local wildlife, snacks and drinks to purchase, clean restroom, and a few gifts. They also have a conference room with the most amazing views.

Park rangers were very helpful. They took the time to notify us of what trails were open and closed. Definitely recommend ice cleats or hiking poles as snow and ice were difficult to maneuver without them.

The park is an unheralded gem. Visitor center is typical with below average services. We were there on a busy Sunday afternoon and park security seemed to spend all their time hanging out by the concession area rather than patrolling.
