Black light tour with Jim. I highly recommend! Got there @9am for the @9:30 tour. Checked in and explored the great gift shop. I can tell Jim is very passionate about the caves and it was so cool to see HIS architect structure behind the tour! Bonus he delivers great humor! Stand out tour guide on a stand out experience! Also enjoyed a slice of pizza at the end there! Can’t wait to go back!

Our tour guide mysty was very knowledgeable and seemed passionate about her job. I would say the spaces are big enough to not feel trapped as I’m slightly claustrophobic and was worried. Our tour guide let us know there were certain stops to turn around if you were feeling too uncomfortable. It’s a great experience. Wear sneakers. We went on a 95 degree day and it was nice and chilly in the caves. Bring a light sweater if you’re a cold person. There were a few parts where we had to duck down but nothing more than 20 steps. If little kids and old people can do it then you can do it. We saw bats. Cool history in this place. Great experience!

Staff was nice and the area is very clean. There are the cutest bats in the cave and the tour guides are friendly and very educational. We bought the geode cracking and you get to choose whichever one you’d like from small to large! Definitely recommend to visit, it’s a nice family outing.

Really enjoyed our visit to Longhorn State Cavern! The cavern is beautiful and our tour guide, Jim, was phenomenal! He kept everyone engaged and was extremely knowledgable! You can visit without booking a tour, but I highly recommend doing the tour. There are a few trails and all were beautifully maintained, marked and easy to follow. The visitor center was also phenomenal and offered a variety of gifts for purchase! They also had pizza, pretzels and other snacks available. There is also an area behind the visitor center with picnic tables that is perfect to do some bird watching! We were able to see cardinals!

My lady and I visited this park back in February and decided to take an earlier tour despite what we reserved for online and what a treat we were in for. Our tour guide Tanner was very energetic and fun to be with on this journey through the cavern. He explained every section of the cavern with detail and his quick witted humor made the whole experience worth while. Our group size was small and it made the experience that much better because on the way out of the cavern we had seen the huge size of what was supposed to be our originally scheduled tour and we were glad that we went on this one. I suggest taking an earlier tour to enjoy the smaller groups.

Wild Cave Tour at Longhorn Cavern – A Fun Intro to Spelunking!

My daughter and I recently went on the Wild Cave Tour at Longhorn Cavern, and we had an amazing time! It’s a beginner-friendly adventure, perfect if you’re curious about spelunking but don’t have prior experience. You’ll crawl through tight spaces and explore areas most visitors never see, which made it feel like a true cave expedition.

That said, it’s not for the claustrophobic—some of the passages are narrow! But if you enjoy exploring and want a unique experience, I highly recommend it. My daughter and I loved every minute and came away with great memories.

Tanner was the best tour guide & alot of fun. We went down with a group of 34 people not bad at all & passed a few other groups during the tour. Not humid in this cavern there was no water or dampness. The trails around the park are nice too.
