Had an awesome afternoon ride near Big Bend State Park. I came by myself and they were able to tag me along with another group since individual reservations aren’t available. Shelby was a great guide and I’d highly recommend.

Had an amazing experiencing riding my first horse at Lajitas Stables. I did the half day ride with lunch and the ride plus view for lunch was fantastic. Our guide, Evo, was very knowledgeable, kind, and cool. Highly recommend booking a ride when you visit the state park!

We did a Full day Saddle/Paddle with Lunch. The ride portion was in the morning with Javier and each horse/mule suited us both and were easy to navigate regardless of experience level. The ride itself had gorgeous views, Aoudad sightings and a delicious lunch. Thanks Lajitas Stables!

Had a wonderful 3hr afternoon ride with Ella! The views on the ride are incredible, and Ella is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. You can tell she (and the company) care about their horses and take great care of them.

My friend and I did a 3 day/2night overnight horse trek from Lajitas Stables in December and it was absolutely incredible. The entire trip was planned, prepared, and handled flawlessly. Janelle was our guide and she could not have been more incredible. Her ability to make us feel comfortable, teach us about the local history and flora/fauna, and give us a laugh with her never ending stories was impressive! Each meal was amazing, with so much attention to detail, which was a tough ask given that my friend and I are both vegetarians! The horses were happy and healthy and clearly well taken care of. I feel like I want to keep this absolute gem of an experience a secret because it was so incredibly special, I don’t want too many people to know about it! That would be unfair though because Janelle and her team at Lajitas Stables deserves recognition for the amazing job they do!! I cannot wait to go back and make this trip a yearly tradition!

World Class experience thanks to our wrangler Evo. We enjoyed his company, expertice, and jokes! The ride was spectacular. Lunch was excellent with a gourmet selection of treats and a stellar site. Shelby was our guide and was PHENOMENAL! She took the time to get to know each person riding and cared about their experience. Very thoughtful and knowledgeable. Shelby was helpful to make sure everyone had a good time, and taught history + cool nature facts along the way. We did the half day with lunch, so worth it! The views are breathtaking and the horses easy and kind. You can tell the horses and mules are well taken care of, and enjoy their jobs. Look no further for a stable, it is a fantastic deal and a great experience.
