A wonderful host. I live in Italy and my hope for good wine was ....well. Not only can you find very, very good wine here, all to my surprise, also a warm welcome, wonderful cheese( a must with wine). A calm beautiful scenery that compliments a small diamond of tranquility with wine. Wonderful guest. Thank you Kara!

My wife and I are new to the area and decided to stop in for a visit. We both had a wonderful time enjoying excellent food, wine, Ruth's live acoustic music, and the attention of our marvelous host Kara. The best part was getting invited to sit with a table of gregarious local enthusiasts, who were so much fun to be with. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Went in for a tasting, loved this place! Genuine, authentic Texas Hill Country vibe! What was unique about it was we felt like we had such personal service instead of being one of hundreds of random people. That and the beautiful views of the hills from the decks, great wine, super friendly staff who were also knowledgeable without being pretentious or snobby. Very good about suggesting food pairings that really work. I actually purchased more wine here because I felt confident about what I would serve it with for guests and even just us. They knew what they were talking about. Our favorites were the Trebbiano, Circle H, and Moonlight. They also have a great small bites and tasting menu that complements everything really well. They also do dinners (they have a chef!) and special events I’m going to go back and try! The live music added to it all too! They have it most days. Will return for sure!

After a long trip to the Hill Country, my wife and I had some spare time before our VRBO was ready. The La Vie Winery was only a few minutes from our stay with good reviews so we gave it a shot.

After our experience it will be a required stop and it should be on your list.

Upon arriving we were the only guests as it was early on a Friday. After entering the establishment we were promptly greeted by Kara the owner. After asking a few questions she formed us that our VRBO included a BOGO tasting so we opted for that. Kara had exceptional knowledge on all the wines and was truly passionate about her product. My wife's favorite was the Viognier while I took a liking to the new release Malbec. We've done dozens of wine tastings including most of the popular ones in Fredericksburg and the offerings at La Vie just kept hitting home run after home run. There was literally something for everyone.

We landed on a cheese board as a hors d'oeuvre but Kara asked us something out of our ordinary experience. She wanted to know what wines we will be selecting so that she could pair them properly. We selected our two favorites mentioned before and went outside to enjoy the spectacular view. Several minutes later and she presented to us a board with six cheeses and a roasted garlic and rosemary olive oil with bread. These had all been prepared fresh with our wine selections in mind. She walked us through each offering and how they should pair with each one. Out of this world service and stellar knowledge of pairing wine and cheese. If you have to wait for one, trust me and be patient. It'll be worth the wait.

We ended up heading home with a bottle of Viognier and a new favorite spot in the Hill Country.
