Cozy little museum run and staffed by very friendly volunteers who either worked on the railroad or are big train buffs or both. Located inside the restored Kingman train depot dating from 1907 which still functions as an actual stop for the Amtrak Southwest Chief, the museum has two main rooms. One has the entrance, a small library, a children's area, and various train-related artifacts, while the other has three large model train layouts in HO, N, and O gauge. At just two dollars for the entrance fee, it's well worth a visit.

Yesterday we decided to revisit the Kingman Railroad Museum. Our last visit was probably was several years ago. The admission price is $2.00 per person. It was a great experience. I love watching model trains and was fascinated by the small details on each of the segments. There was even a guy climbing a mountain trying to get away from a bear. Of course there is lots of history that can be seen throughout the museum.

The people working there were all very friendly and informative which made the experience great. They were so great to speak with.

Small but great history of railroad in area. Volunteers very knowledgeable regarding the electric sets and history of toy trains. Clean bathrooms. Able to see large trains go by. $2 admission.

Carl, you are a gem! Thank you so much for taking the time to show my folks and I around the museum and explained everything! My dad was in heaven here as he has trains from when he was a kid and his dad’s trains. They are so lucky to have you volunteering your time. Thank you again!

My favorite part of the museum was talking with the lady at the front desk. She was an absolute joy. Part way through my visit a train past and a kid started screaming at the top of his lungs so we left. I was disappointed just because I have been trying for years to visit this museum. This is the first time my travel schedule had me there when they were open due to their very limited hours. Then I had to cut my visit short because someone can't control their spawn. No fault of the museum. I saw enough that I'm not sure I would visit again, if I was around at a time they were open I'd go again just to tall with the receptionist.

Well preserved Santa Fe Railroad Station. Lots of freight trains and Amtrak stops here for rail fan enthusiasts.

I have been to this museum twice and have loved it both times. I have 2 boys who love trains, and the engineer they had running the model trains was very kind about getting them going so my kids could watch. They also have artifacts throughout the Union Pacific history. They had 2 small wooden train tables set up for kids to build their own tracks.

We also got to watch a real train go by.

Kids under 12 are free and admission as of today was only $2 per person. I would definitely recommend stopping by.
