Sally, Courtney and the Kickstand Team went above and beyond to make our wedding vision come true! They were so knowledgable when it came to the logistics of making an island wedding happen and had experience doing so, and this led me to have full confidence in them during the planning process.
They were so up-to-date with wedding trends and completely understood my ideas and knew exactly how to make them happen. They are also the sweetest and most patient Wedding Planners, and became our genuine friends in the process! To this day I am not aware of anything that went wrong on our Wedding Day because of their expertise in planning and execution. Forever thankful for this team and the fact that we got to experience this season of life with them! Can't recommend enough.

Our wedding day (6/3/23) was hands down the best day of our entire lives! My husband and I have always imagined there was too much pressure put on your wedding day, and we were sure it would just be another great party, but thanks to Kickstand, we were entirely proven wrong. It. Was. The. Best.

We live in New York City, and planning to get married in Wilmington, NC at Airlie Gardens meant that we were complicating an already hectic process with a destination wedding. We had some ideas of what we were looking for, but no clear vision or specific details in mind. We were recommended Kickstand Events by our venue, and we are so glad we went with them and the full planning package.

During our first in-person meeting, Courtney and Sally took the time to get to know us and understand what we were or were not looking for. Following that first meeting, they were on top of it. We were shocked when we received our first design proposal and it was exactly what we didn’t know we’d been looking for. We had one, maybe two overall edits to the proposal.

Every step of the way, they provided recommendations, but ultimately left the decision-making up to us. That being said, we did not go astray from their suggestions very often. Every element that we had an opinion on, they said “let’s do it” and sourced the perfect vendor to execute on it. Such as: family style dinner, a killer band, a setup that complemented the garden landscape, a NYC-inspired seating chart based on subway stops (!!), etc.

Then comes the most impressive part….the day of. The Kickstand Team so flawlessly delivered on the perfect day that my husband and I, as the bride and groom, were not aware of one single thing that went wrong. I don’t know if that’s actually how things went down, but boy did it make for a stress-free and wonderful day. They were there to help clean up the house where the bridal party got ready (Is taking the trash out an official wedding planner remit? Absolutely not, but Bri did it graciously.), they were there to bustle my dress when we wrapped up pictures and weren't quite to cocktail hour yet, and they were there with a saved bag of Bojangles - our late night snack - before we headed off to the after-party.

The Kickstand Team was so fabulous that my husband and I remember them being there at every step we needed something, but they never interfered when we were with family or friends or on the dance floor.

We know, without a doubt, our day would not have been as magical as it was without the Kickstand Team. If you have the opportunity to work with them, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you endlessly to Sally, Courtney, and team 🙂

Wow!! So many good things to say about our Lead Planner/Designer, Joanna Marshburn, and Kickstand Events! My husband and I had the most amazing and relaxed wedding day because of Joanna, Nicole and their team. I truly did not have to think about a thing on the day of because I knew I was in such great hands. They were organized and kept us on our timeline.
