Great experience! Depending on the time of the year, you can see a lot of cool things like manatees, dolphins, jelly fish etc. There is also a cute island, that you can get off on and swim. If you choose not to do a tour with a guide, you can still rent a kayak and get a map of the mangroves. They do provide you with a bag for your belongings tonight to get wet and put a kayak in the water for you.
I would bring some drinks and snacks if need be.

Went on a kayak tour while visiting family in the area.

We did the Guided kayak mangrove tunnel tour on 7/19/24. Guide Steffan was extremely knowledgeable about the bay as well as navigating through the mangrove tunnels. We enjoyed the 2 hours guided tour and not a dull moment. We were lucky and encounter several dolphins in close proximity. We had a wonderful time paddling the kayak in the bay. Definitely no experience required. There was no alligators as promised. My only regret was not bringing any insect spray.

We did a tandem kayak rental and Jeff, our rentee, was joyous, magnanimous, eager to teach and eager to share.

He made me feel taken care of and like I was familiar with waters I had never been before, and he happily told us stories about the animals and species we saw on our trip on our return.

Ospreys, yellow crowned night heron, white ibises, snowy egrets, brown pelicans, and dozens of turkey vultures!

Amazing experience!! Great for kayakers of any level. SRQ was so kind and accommodating, allowing us to reschedule when my husband came down with food poisoning.

The mangrove tunnels were beautiful! The highlight were the manatees that followed us back in and hung out right next to us. Midnightpass beach was gorgeous and fun for a stop to swim!

Our guide and the team were so friendly and knowledgeable.

Will definitely be back!!

David was the best tour guide. Great jokes, was super considerate to take care of one of our friends who was a first time kayaker. He even took our picture and one of himself we found out later…we had a good laugh. Definitely would recommend.
