Hands down the best day I ever had fishing getting to watch my son bag 7 fish. All thanks to John. I asked him if he could help my boy catch his first Bass and he did that and more. He definitely knows where the fish are and how to catch them. My son has fallen in love with Bass fishing now and told me he wants to move to Clearlake. If your looking for someone to put you on fish, while teaching you what to do and how to do it, there is no one out there better than John pearl. In my economy class we had a project where we had to job shadow someone in our community, and since I love fishing I thought what better job to shadow than a fishing guide! I had met john when his son and my brother were on the same baseball team, and from the moment I met him I could tell he knew more about fishing than I ever could. When I asked to shadow him he was more than happy to help, and he helped me get an A, and walk away with some nice fish caught! ( including this 9.6 pounder! ) John knows EVERYTHING. Every question I had was answered and I was bummed when I had to leave. To sum it all up, I’d argue his guide service is one of the best in California. John is one of the nicest guys I know, and if you go out on the water with him, your more than sure to have a great time, and catch some great fish ? ?

I did a half day trip for large mouth bass with my 9 year-old daughter in August. He was great with her and she really enjoyed the day.

John’s skill and knowledge is amazing. It was a hot day and the bite was slow. There was a bass tournament going on so there were quite a few other people fishing. We were the only boat catching bass and we caught 8.

It was a truly enjoyable experience. I would repeat in a second.
