Mefi, asante sana (thank you so much!) for your recommendations and orchestrating a travel experience like no other we’ve ever had. You listened to us, our questions, our requests and delivered brilliantly. My husband and I feel so grateful to have experienced this safari adventure. We did our customized safari in September 2024 in the Serengeti and Masai Mara and saw the big 5 including the elusive black rhino and about a million wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, elephants during the migration. It was a stunning spectacle of nature. The locations of the Kenya lodges were along the Mara River so we were close to lots of the action. Overall, we added a few extra adventures, did a balloon ride with champagne breakfast (wow, thanks again Mefi. So worth it!), 2 walking safaris, and a night game drive for a stunning starry night and an unforgettable experience. We absolutely loved having our own vehicles with our own guides for the entire safari. Our guides, the safari rock-stars, were the ultimate professionals who made the overall safari experience absolutely unforgettable (kudos to Godfrey, Taga, and William). Our 3 lodges in Tanzania and Kenya were high-end, uncrowded, intimate. Our tents were luxe and private. We were impressed by the staffs’ consistent kindness, cheery vibe, and willingness to pamper us. The dining exceeded our expectations. Real cuisine, gourmet flavors, first class service. Bravo!

We returned from our African Safari about three months ago. We had looked at a few different tour operators before deciding to go with Journey to Africa. We were a group of about 12 people and Mefi built up and customized our itineraries based on our individual requests and needs. We visited Masai Mara, Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro crater, and have some very good memories about the trip. We saw many different animals(including the Big 5, hundreds of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, impalas, elands, Thomson’s and grants gazelles etc) and many wild birds in their natural habitats, as well as the Great African wildebeest migration. The highlight of our African Safari were the highly knowledgeable guides who were very friendly and accommodating, and could spot animals from a far distance. We stayed in the migration camps, and the local staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a once in a lifetime, very memorable trip.

Thanks Mefi for the amazing experience we had in ticking off one of the bucket list items for us. It was a very well planned and executed trip. Being a group of 12 couples with 24 heads and 24 different needs /wants and to be satisfied in the end is not an easy feat to achieve. Mefi was always very patient in organising countless meetings planning and answering our questions. The locations of the tents were spectacular and ecofriendly (giving us a sense of doing something right to the preservation of nature in a way). The jet lag helped me stay awake at night and enjoy the flaps of the birds wings, the hippo pairs conversations and the sounds of all different animals. The food was locally grown and very tasty. The guides were at our call at all times and very knowledgeable. Special shoutout to "Godwin" in Ngorongoro who knew exactly where to find the lions and any animal that we wanted to see. The ride from the Gibbs farm(Best place to stay in Ngorongoro) to the base of the crater was one thrilling ride. It was so foggy and to see Godwin drive thr that (avoiding the animals) was a thrilling sight. Overall, we were glad that we picked up the best one amongst the countless Safari organisers. We would to love to go back to see the birthing season some day and would look no further than the "Journey to Africa". Asante Sana from all 24 heads.....and hearts.

We learned about Mefi and Journey to Africa from folks we met on a Viking Ocean Cruise..bucket list questions led to the referral. I contacted Mefi and, through a few conversations, she put together a fantastic trip plan that met our objectives and budget. We visited 5 parks in Tanzania with a pre-safari visit to Victoria Falls. Everything went like clockwork..with one exception..a flight change/delay that she quickly addressed and solved. In retrospect, the trip exceeded our expectations in every area..the parks were awesome..our guides were friendly, knowledgeable and eager to ensure that we had the very best safari experience. And, Mefi was checking on our trip at every stop to make sure all was proceeding as planned. In short, our trip simply could not have been better and we strongly recommend Journey to Africa and Mefi if, like us, you're objective is a great safari experience and you want to leave the planning to an expert!

We went on the vacation of a lifetime to Tanzania with the expertise and planning help from Mefi from Journey to Africa. We did an enormous amount of research into tour companies that specialize in safaris and sent them all our desires, time frame and budget. JTA was the only company that actually listened to us and didn’t just respond with a canned itinerary. Mefi was so easy to work with and helped us refine our trip answering our countless questions and changes. We especially liked that she is located in the USA but is so knowledgeable about Tanzania having had her roots there. She has a wide network of places and activities as well as people there who will ensure the best visit ever. We recommend Journey From Africa wholeheartedly- you won’t be disappointed
