I had cousins visiting Montgomery to see what the Hometown show had done to Wetumpka. I drove them by the Civic Room but it was not open so I can't give a detailed review. Next door is an old, dog-trot log cabin that was not mentioned on Hometown. A local group is trying to raise funds to restore this log cabin and another one that were moved to Wetumpka prior to the bicentennial. Nearby is the Gold Star park which would be a wonderful spot for a picnic once the weather cools down. There is also boat ramp nearby to gain access to the Coosa River.
