Their messaging inside the museum could highlight indigenous voices a bit more. Overall, this complex is nice. A pavilion with picnic tables. A walking path near river. Of all the times I've gone, the longhouse has been open once. My favorite spot is watching the birds out the big window in the kids room

Great History museum, lots of cool items to see (look at pics) , Indian/cherokee culture. Small trail to walk outdoors, fishing allowed in lake/pond clean indoors with bathroom. No dogs allowed inside building tho 😕, overall great place.

This was an amazing volunteer opportunity. Absolutely amazing. Take your kids , family , parents, grandparents on the lovely trail & their is a museum open till 4pm. I got to learn about the patowami people. Learning experience, nature experience. Have fun and please come & visit.

Great nature preserve in Romeoville. It's got a beautiful river, lots of trees and birds. Nice educational center. Only a small walking area. You can go fishing by the river.
Large outdoor seating area for performances.
There is some noise from the busy street.
Wish there were restrooms open after closing hours.
Lots of parking available.

What a wonderful little free museum. As you walk through you can read all about the Indians and traders.
The museum always seems to have something going on and the best thing to do is find the website and check it out.
I went today to check out the Animal Extinction Quilts. This exhibit will be finished tomorrow, July 25th.
Next Saturday, the 31st, they are having a "Food trucks" event from 4 to 7pm
Bathroom was clean, staff person was helpful with my questions, and they have a small gift area.
Don't forget to drop in some money in the donation box as you leave.

Beautiful little island, including a wetland where you can walk beside a stream. We went to two presentations over the period when the French were trading with the potawatomi Indians. The docents explained the fur trade and showed lots of examples of furs and kinds of tracks. Our kids' favorite was the session where they could actively participate in mock trades of typical items of that era. The workers there we're so nice to the children and included games with educational activities.
