I've been going to this with my son for several years now. I have noticed that every year seems to get better and better.
There are plane rides, as well as, helicopter rides.
You can purchase tickets prior to the event online or, when you get there. In my opinion, the ticket prices are reasonable and haven't fluctuated too much, considering everything else in today's world has.
As of this year (2024), this is the first time I've noticed EVERY hanger having something going on. There was even walk-throughs in some areas of certain hangers, showcasing work in progress projects; A couple WW II era project planes on display and even areas showing plane engines, electrical systems and dioramas.
Also on display, are model airplanes (the flying kind), and the people who fly them.
Speaking of which, there are plenty of people to talk to on the subject. Enthusiasts, veterans, and pretty much anyone else you can think of on the subject matter.
There were tents showcasing weaponry, bombs, etc...
There are WW II and Vietnam era tents with plenty to look at and a mountain of interesting information. There are authentic artifacts as well as accurate reproductions.
Now, my favorite part, the fighter planes. There's an Avenger that makes a regular appearance every year. There are many opportunities to get up close and personal with the cockpit of these aircraft.
There's plenty for the kids including simulators and toys available for sale.
There are plenty of food and drink vendors available, including shaved ice, ice cream and slushies, too. If you prefer the more conventional approach, Charlie's right on the runway is the place. As with everywhere after COVID, the prices are on the high side. Also, it was packed. Due to this, the food took a long time but, that was definitely to be expected. The staff was very friendly. The food was very good and definitely worth the wait. If you go with any of the tent food, there's plenty of places to eat on the grass. Many people picnic right next to the runway and watch the planes. Charlie's also has outdoor seating, if you are lucky enough to score some seats. By the way, because of the large amount of people, I neglected to mention, the wait for seats was a while. However, that was overshadowed by the friendly staff and the great food. I had the B1 bomber burger. I couldn't even finish it! It was awesome!
I would recommend bringing cash, as most things there only take cash. The restaurant will take a card. There is an ATM on site but of course, there's a hefty fee attached.
As far as cleanliness goes, I would say, for the most part, the grounds were well maintained. The bathroom in the restaurant left something to be desired in this category, however, one must take into consideration the amount of people and the extremely short staffed crew in the establishment. Please note that I can only reference the men's bathroom.
Overall, my son and I had a blast, and that's really all I care about.

A great museum with many exhibits. It is true that I was here during the air picnic of historic planes, but many exhibits are here permanently. A well-prepared didactic museum is extremely friendly, especially for the youngest. What more can I say, great place.

Took my 6 year old daughter and we had a great time. Friendly greeting from a few members and they were there to give a lot of helpful information. We especially liked the flight simulators! We will be back again soon.

We were there for "The Annual Cavalcade of planes" event this year. We had a great time outdoors with planes takeoff and land the entire time.

There were a variety of food vendors with great options. There were also many stalls giving away freebies for kids. Not to mention vendors selling toys and other artisan stuff.

Some vendors that only accepted cash but failed to explicitly advertise that. Parking at the venue was full shortly after the event started and everyone ended up parking in the Home Depot, Goodwill and Lowes lots.

Overall the event was well organized.

Good choice to spend a few hours in the weekend with the little ones for adults as well, looking what kind of technology they had and how could they fly the plains is really interesting.
They don’t have any entrance fee but they accept donation.
