Every time we go, it is amazing. I recommend a visit during each season. The park is fairly vast so each visit can be completely different. Don't forget bug repellent. Dog friendly place, bags are a must. Also not a good place for bird feeding, there may even be a sign saying not to do so.

Great state park. Lots of well maintained trails and a lovely little pond and waterfall area. Named after Elias Howe whose home was where the main park is. His homestead footprint still exists. Some trails are steep and gravelly while others are more moderate. Howe trails connect easily with the Depot Rail Trail

Great views and good trails. I wish more of the paths were marked and had better access across the water. We needed to use alltrails app to stay on our desired path at this park.

Great, quiet park for a stroll. Only docked a star for it's lack of facilities...no restrooms, grills or picnic tables. Lovely little pond and stream. Nice dirt trails circle the pond and a nice broad dirt walking/snowmobile trail follows the stream. Plenty of parking. I don't fish myself but have watched others fishing here and they were pulling fish in every 10 minutes or so. There is a pretty large mown grassy area on one side of the pond, great for playing fetch or frisbee. The spillway area is pretty enough that I often see folks using it as a backdrop for pictures. There's never very many people here so I often see people walking their dogs off leash. I've seen plenty of tiny frogs, newts, a great variety of birds, even a beaver here. There is a stretch of rail trail that starts on one side of the park. Nice quiet place to get a quick nature fix.

Our family really loves this park! It's always clean, many trails, grounds are well maintained. Everyone we've run into is friendly and dog owners are respectful. I've been on other trails where you constantly see poop bags and I don't ever see that issue here!
