The area is tired and industrial with a lot of construction within a couple of miles. Older area with some homeless about. The hotel also has an older vibe although it was clean. The bed was a bit softer than usual and the rooms felt smaller than usual for a Holiday Inn Express. The cleaning staff I interacted with wasn’t very friendly when I asked her if she knew where the front desk clerk was, she never offered to help or look for him. Breakfast was normal but the dining room is small so we had to eat in our room. Parking was good as the hotel didn’t seem very full. We were within 2 miles of the Stanford Spine Center.

My room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the hotel is quiet. Location is ok - I was able to walk to downtown Redwood City and the restaurants there very easily since they are only about a mile away from the hotel. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel so I can't speak to that. There are very few amenities in the bathroom: liquid soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner are provided, but if you need cotton swabs, etc., remember to pack them 🙂

They advertise room cleaning every three days, but in reality, it’s just towel replacement and trash removal—no actual cleaning or vacuuming. When I requested fresh towels, the front desk staff responded with attitude. Overall, the cleanliness and service were below the standard of most Holiday Inns I’ve stayed at. Also, the location feels a bit sketchy for Redwood City.

I chose this hotel because of the proximity to Stanford Medical Offices for a procedure my wife was having and the room rating being more affordable than others in the area. Overall our experience at Hoilday Inn Express Redwood City was decent. The noise from the street below can be excessive at times but seems to die down around bedtime. Beds/bedding are comfortable. Breakfast was meh, with the eggs being kind of bland, however there was a pretty good variety other than eggs to choose from including Cereal, breads, fruits, drinks, pastries, potatoes and sausages. Staff is friendly and attentive making my family and I feel welcome. There are several restaurants within walking distance to the hotel and some shopping if you need some necessities. The internet did seem a little spotty at times. I would stay again if passing through the area.

The front desk staff Sandoval is a warm hearted guy. He did his job excellently. Thanks for his service we had a great time staying here.
The Room is on the parking lots side so it’s very quiet at night. Location is also very convenient to SF and San Jose. Last but not least the price is pretty affordable for a place to take a rest nicely.

I always choose this property when I stay in Redwood City, CA. Typically, my travel is for business purposes. Not that I would change location if I were traveling for leisure reasons. I know what to expect, there are no surprises. It has been about (7) years since I last stayed at this property and my stay did not disappoint. The only thing I missed was the little robot that would bring my amenity 'bag' to my room. I got a kick out of the robot's visits.

When we need to be in the area this is always our first choice to stay.

Quality updated rooms, always cleat and comfortable.

The entire staff are friendly and helpful. You can tell the staff enjoys working there. There is covered parking and the grounds well kept. Of course the breakfast has variety of selections.

I had a very satisfactory stay. The room and service fully lived up to my expectations of Holiday Inn Express. The motorized room-darkening blinds were a nice feature.

For travelers looking for a quiet getaway, please note that you will be staying at a hotel that’s right on El Camino Real and there is no practical way of blocking out the sound of revving car and motorcycle engines at all times of the day and night - there seems to a significant subset of the local population fixated on making noise, in what I suspect is psychological compensation for what they might be lacking in their lives. You’d be trading quiet for centrality of location and all the other positive features of this specific hotel.
