Visiting the L.B. Brown House Museum was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend for anyone interested in history! The reservation process was easy, and the staff were very accommodating with the time we requested for our Saturday visit. The museum is filled with interesting details about Lawrence B. Brown, who went from being a former slave to a successful businessman and community leader. The tour was engaging and informative, showcasing Mr. Brown's personal possessions and original features like wooden pillars and clay plumbing pipes (no longer in use).

Finding the museum was straightforward, and there’s plenty of parking available in a grassy area, although street parking might be a better option for those with mobility needs. The tour lasted about 45 minutes and was really captivating, highlighting L.B. Brown's impressive achievements. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it a must-visit if you live in or visit Central Florida. I'm looking forward to the annual L.B. Brown Heritage Festival which is held every February; it promises to be a vibrant celebration of history and culture!

This historical home has been on my bucket list for a while and today I finally had the chance to visit with my parents. We were greeted by Patricia (who I had already talked to when I made my appointment) and she was so pleasant and kind from the start to the end when we left. Patricia gave us a full tour of the home; she is full of amazing information and explained each room with great detail. We were able to take pictures and look through items and documents from over 100 years ago. The house is well kept and well taken care of; it’s a great place to visit and step back in time. It was a pleasure to meet Patricia as well as Mr. Lewis, who made our visit so pleasant!
