Interesting historical site with potentials, but largely underdeveloped. The site has a small museum with brochures covering basic information and history. The museum also has some small exhibits. Overall, the grounds have good signage related to various buildings, with some of them still being open to the public. We stopped there after a long drive, and the site turned out to be a great place to walk our dog and stretch our legs.

There really wasn't anything to do there except at the visitor's center, a few artifacts, and two videos. One of the barracks was open and was setup when the fort was in use. All other buildings didn't have anything in them or you couldn't go inside. I was hoping for a lot more, but it was only $3 to get in.

If you are into history of westward expansion, this is a good stop. Little remains of the original Fort but you get enough info to visualize the setting and appreciate the rugged life these folks led.

Actually pretty cool. My teen is studying this period in history so it was really interesting for her to see how the history was in real life. Highly recommend as a quick stop for educational purposes and to actually see what it was like.

The fort was kind of underwhelming. All self-lead with not many exhibits,, just buildings. But the Annie Riggs museum was great! Lots of great artifacts and collections. Stop by the jail. And the grey mule Saloon wine tasting room had great wine.
