An easy waterfall to get to if you go the right way! Ended up walking it backwards but was able to bear crawl up the hill with no problem! Really nice place to sit and listen to the water running! Hug a tree while you are here!

It was a short walk from the parking lot, however it was a bit treacherous. There are several different falls, some are small. The main falls are the picture of the double falls. The other picture is of one of the smaller falls. The stream was running hard so we went along the stream instead of crossing. It wasn't too hard, we did have to climb across an area of boulders.

Easy short hike. Take the higher trail trees down on the lower trail. Don't stop at the first cascade of water keep going to the second.

High Falls is an incredibly beautiful hidden gem! The best time to go is in Spring, when it’s warming up and we are getting frequent, heavy rainfall.
The main trail to the falls goes upwards and becomes a moderate hike about 1/8 of a mile in. It would be challenging for persons with balance/coordination issues and extremely difficult in places for people requiring the use of mobility devices as there is a good bit of stepping from stone to stone to cross a stream, and several uphill climbs where one has to stretch and extend arms and legs to reach rocks and tree roots to pull yourself up, and finally 2 separate metal staircases to climb to reach the top.
The first obstacle is crossing the stream, and depending on the water table and time of year it can be a torrent or a trickle but is never more than 5 or 6 feet across, with plenty of stones to step on to cross, but make sure to test their stability before putting your full weight on them.
After you cross the stream, you will come across a very strange tree that has grown in to what looks like a cross between a bench and a field goal post.
It’s important to note that High Falls has three tiers to it, so don’t short yourself on the experience by not visiting all three, plus the bonus I’ll describe at the end!
Just beyond the weird tree, you will encounter the foot of the falls that produced the stream you just crossed. This area is pretty, and people who are not familiar with the falls tend to think that THIS IS HIGH FALLS, and disappointed, turn around and go home. But YOU won’t make that mistake.
To reach the second tier you need to follow a rock trail to your left (if facing the falls) nothing too difficult, a few high steps and then you reach the first staircase. It looks sketchy and shakes a tiny bit but it’s perfectly safe. Once you reach the top of the stairs, you will see the bowl of falls, and it is gorgeous there!
It’s not deep enough to jump in from the top or anything (you need to go to Devils Den Falls for that) but it’s a great place for kids to splash around and there are tiny fishes and a sort of sheltered overhang on the opposite side of the pool.
If you look up at the top of the waterfall from this area you will see the mouth of the waterfall, but this still isn’t the place you want to turn around and go home. Again, upwards and to your left you will see another staircase that will take you to the very top of the falls. There is a beautiful spot there with a view you won’t soon forget. Plus, if you cross the steam, follow a faint trail for a few minutes past a fire pit, you will come to a beautiful overlook, that to me is the best part of the hike.
Please realize that this place is a natural wonder and a place of such peace and beauty, and we want to keep it that way for our future generations, so please, do not litter, take everything out with you that you brought it, and if you are hoping to atone for some past misdeed, a great way to start would be to bring an empty bag and a glove to pick up any trash that less considerate persons have left behind.

This is the High Falls near Pyriton, AL. The waterfall is sweet but not outstanding. However, the stone formations near the falls grabbed my attention. Given the short distance from the parking area to the waterfall and the ease of getting to its location, I'd recommend High Falls if you're in the area.

We loved the hike ! There wasn’t any water flowing dew to the drought but it’s still an amazing site.

Stunning ! Just when you take in all the beauty of the waterfall, you can go a little further and find the ladder that leads to an even more beautiful waterfall, then another ladder that leads to even more water!!!!
I DEFINITELY MUST SEE FOR ANYONE THAT LOVES THE OUTDOORS OR CHASING WATERFALLS

One of my favorite, most serene places. Easy walk to the first tier with a rock step creek crossing. Steep, rocky and moderate climb to the upper two tiers. Worth the climb. The upper tier with the lagoon is the most beautiful.
