Hideout on the Horseshoe is an exceptional property that has it all! The location is perfect—close to everything you need yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and secluded. The river access is fantastic, and the views are absolutely stunning. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-furnished, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay.

The staff truly goes above and beyond—Rio, in particular, was incredible. Friendly, helpful, and welcoming time and time again, Rio added a personal touch that made our visit even better. The easy check-in and check-out process was another bonus.

This property was absolutely perfect for our Veteran group (Warriors and Quiet Waters), families, or anyone seeking a refreshing escape. Highly recommend Hideout on the Horseshoe and hope to be back soon!

Hideout on the Horseshoe is a beautiful property, with great views overlooking the river, and good access to recreational activities. The rooms are clean and well kept.

Unfortunately, the owners put no thought into the experience of staying there. There are no places to put clothing or belongings (like closets or drawers), except a couple of hooks on the wall. The only places to put things are where you sit. There is a futon that serves as a sofa and extra bed. It is extremely uncomfortable and it is at right angles to the TV in the main room, so you really can't sit and watch TV. The bed is mushy and uncomfortable.

The coffee pot is the type that holds cone shaped filters, but they don't supply filters. Instead, they give you little square filter packs which don't fit, and the coffee itself is terrible.

The worst problem, however, is that the entrance to the property is poorly marked and has no lighting. Trying to find and pull into the property after dark is extremely dangerous and terrifying.

There is no onsite management, so when we had to call about the people in the neighboring cabin screaming and fighting, the after-hours operator could only give us the sheriff's office phone number. Officers came and arrested our neighbors.

We would have liked to write a great review, because the property has a lot going for it, but neglecting these simple things makes it a no-go.

This place is an excellent value being in a good location right on the river. Our bed wasn’t as soft as we like and we didn’t sleep as well as we had hoped. We will be back.

I highly recommend this wedding venue to couples who are looking for a mix of beautiful scenery, the Texas hill country, and tons of photo opportunities across the property. This venue is the perfect touch of nature with a home type feel. Some of the wedding guests even jumped in the river while we were taking photos. 10/10 unforgettable experience

We stayed for our anniversary and were truly impressed. The accommodations are fantastic. We enjoyed having the fireplace, and lots of room in the Honeymoon suite. The copper bathtub was unique and the porch views of the river were amazing. Every window had a great view! The people watching is fun, especially seeing the fly fishers make their catch.

The icing on the cake was the management. She called to check in to see if we needed anything the morning of our reservation. When I told her about our anniversary, she asked what wine we prefer. When I told her we're non-drinkers, she provided us with a glass of my favorite Sparkling Cider instead! That's thoughtful service you don't see much!!

Even though it's close to a main road, there's lots of flora to separate it and it must be well insulated, because we heard nothing inside the cabin.

Tip: It's a bit of a walk from the parking lot, with uneven pavers, so bring a suitcase with wheels if you can.

Love love love this place! Heather at the office is so great to work with! The rooms are clean and actually are a decent size. We had a party of 7 and had two cabins. #14 is a loft and fit 5 very easily. Can definitely fit 6 if two want to share the futon. We also had #11 and that has a nice big "living room".

The shuttle (bus driver is wonderful and funny) picked us up and took us to the river and it was about a 2.5 hour float. I loved the porch that overlooks the river. It's a short walk on a very lovely paved path down to the river.

We can't wait to be back! 💖💖

Great views of the Vistas and Guadalupe River, which is accessible from all cabins. We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin that boasted great views from both rooms. It also had a gas fireplace and a beautiful copper bathtub roomy enough for two.

The property was beautiful! We went off season and during the week which was great, very quiet and peaceful. This was our first visit and it will not be our last!

Booking online was a breeze, staff was responsive via email and phone when I had questions. Very friendly! Check-in is no contact and completed via text.

Know before you go...The cabin has a full fridge and microwave, no oven, stove or kitchen items so bring what you need.
