I booked a car through Booking.com. I called yesterday to confirm it. I showed up today after paying $20 for a subs that dropped me off in a warehouse district with nothing around. I went in and was given a very unfriendly greeting by Charles who immediately told me
that my reservation had been canceled. He said he had no cars for a week. He was unfriendly and couldn’t care less. He didn’t offer any apologies nor did he mention that I could rent from somewhere else near by. What a horrible representative. Yuck. Run for your life. This place is MEAN!

Congrats to Hertz on earning my first ever negative review!!!!! 🏆 Didn’t have a car for me despite being assured my car and reservation was “guaranteed.” Very rude customer service — acted like I was an idiot for booking a car with them. Also, they can’t be bothered to answer the phone (I called ten times). Couldn’t be worse, really. Terrible business.

Insurance took care of my rental while my car at the shop, they are nice and friendly you just need patience and time so plan a few minutes ahead when checking in. Make sure to call them and see if the car you need is available it does not say it online so please double check.

This place needs NEW employees. They are VERY!!! Rude to their customers. They have their favorite people that they hold cars for. BBB needs to send an undercover young person into this business to rent a car so they can see how nasty and rude they treat their customers. We normal people have the RIGHT to rent a vehicle just like their usual people that rent cars. I had a reservation from an insurance company and they STILL gave my car away. IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO RENT A CAR ELSEWHERE PLEASE DO SO because the Hertz Rental on 5th Avenue South.. are RUDE NON CARING people. smh it’s your own people sad shame

The customer service was awful. None of the workers knew what they were doing. They told us 4 times that they didn't have a car for us, even though we had called them 3 hrs prior and they said to come whenever that same day to pick up the car. They treated us like we were lying that we had called them, until they realized who we had talked to. Then they were adding charges they didn't tell us about. We had to ask how much they were charging us 3 times before they finally told us, after we had already swiped our card. They weren't adding our insurance until we pestered them about it. They were giving us information conflicting with what our insurance was telling us. Not to mention that they had so few cars available that we had no choice but to get an expensive upgrade to even be able to get a car.

If I could give zero stars I would. This location needs to get new employees, they are unprofessional, they have NO customer service skills, they are lazy (they wouldn’t even go outside to show you which vehicle you are getting or go over the vehicle with you, just hand you keys and tell you to hit the button on key fob and you will know what your are getting because they don’t tell you when you are filling out the paperwork), raise their voice to customers and are VERY RUDE and if upper management could hear the way the lady at the front desk talked to the customers that was trying to rent when I was in there and the way she talked to another customer that came in that had reservations and they didn’t have a car for her when she got there, they would fire her on the spot. My insurance company had set up a reservation for an SUV for me and I called to verify they had one before I drove an hour to pick it up and I get there they didn’t have one for me. I told them the guy on the phone verified they had one for me, the rude lady at the front desk raised her voice said “Well he didn’t put your name on the suv and we don’t got any so we don’t have anything for you”. I told my insurance company that they DO NOT NEED TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. So beware if you choose this company because they are going to lie and say they have a vehicle for you and you won’t have one when you get there. This has been the worst company that I have EVER dealt with and bc of this location and I will not be back and I will tell everyone I know not to use this company.

I had just booked a car for this weekend, but I am so glad I read the reviews beforehand. The reviews are awful, and it all centers on customer service and poor management. These companies know they hire incompetent workers who are not there to actually work and do the job of providing actual customer service. The company is just looking out to get money, and the workers can care less. I dodged a bullet this time.

This was my first time renting from here and it was ok and yes, just ok, okay. I will try it out again in the future and see what happens.
