5 stars is not enough to explain the wonderful experience my son and I had at GSO. Hunter, Leroy, the entire staff were amazing. Lodging, food, and hunting were all top notch. I have been on paid hunts from Texas to Georgia and in between and none of them compare to the experience they provide at Great Southern Outdoors. I can’t thank Hunter and Leroy enough for the positive impression they both made on my son. Memories made for a lifetime and we cannot wait to return. Thanks again!! Kyle and Walker Watts

Had a great experience at great southern outdoors. We called a couple days before our hunt and asked about the bed bugs after reading prior reviews. We were informed they had pest control out twice to check for them and could not find anything, but went ahead and treated the rooms to be safe. Believe me when I say there are no bugs we checked thoroughly. Kyler was our guide and he did a phenomenal job. Two out of the 3 people in our group went home with a hog. The food is fantastic. They feed you real home cooked fresh meals, not fast food frozen food or junk. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. But overall it was an amazing weekend and we are looking forward to next year, we will be back!

Great people and great food. Was relaxing and laid back which was good for me being my first hog hunt. I am an avid hunter, I just live in the north and never hunted hogs. I never actually saw hogs, plenty of hog sign, other hunters did harvest the second day which was great considering how hot it was outside. I heard hogs in the distance both nights. I would recommend having a thermal scope and at least a night vision monocular. The feeder lights are decent but hogs are smart, and it appears this is no exception. That's why it's called hunting and not killing. The guides Leroy and Kyler put in the work trying to make sure everyone was taken care of, and scouting trying to get everyone on hogs. These guides put in sleepless hours to try and get the job done for their customers. Even though I am sure I was annoying at times with questions, they were always intuitive and gave straightforward answers which I commend.
Now, the reason for the 3 stars. Somehow, I got the short straw and was staying in the older lodge. I wasn't impressed, it needs some renovations. I wasn't expecting the Hilton by any means; it is a hunt and not a beach vacation. But, the house was very musky smelling almost like a dog had peed in it one too many times. The bathroom needs some renovations specifically a new toilet seat, and a new bathtub surround for the shower at least. Some new beds and mattresses are in dire need. After being up all night most hunters just sleep the day away. But, that's pretty hard to do in an uncomfortable old bed that squeaks and looks like it just came out of the 1950s crazy hospital. Needs some light bulbs in the bar lights in the ceiling in the room I stayed in, and just a good all-over dusting job. The deck on the back of the house I stayed in needs to be removed before it gets someone hurt, it's old and rotting, and it is on its way out. I will say, the A/C works like a champ. You could keep meat in there it was so cold, I loved that lol!!! Overall, after thinking about it for a couple of days I have mixed emotions about whether I would go back. I liked it overall, minus the sleeping conditions. I asked others about the other lodge, and they all said it was very nice and updated with good beds.

Great Southern Outdoors Hunting is a fantastic destination for hunting enthusiasts looking for an amazing hunting experience. Not only does the facility offer excellent hunting opportunities, but the hospitality and staff are also top-notch.

During my recent hunting trip, I had the pleasure of being guided by Chase, who was an outstanding guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my hunting experience was one to remember. I appreciate his expertise and dedication to making sure that we had a successful hunt.

The staff at Great Southern Outdoors Hunting were also very welcoming and accommodating. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of the family. They took care of all of my needs and ensured that I was comfortable throughout my stay.

The meals and cooking staff at Great Southern Outdoors Hunting were exceptional as well. The staff always made us feel at home and we always had plenty of food to eat.

This place is amazing! My wife and I have been coming for years. We deer hunt here during the rut and the quality of deer excellent. We also do numerous Hog hunts during the year and have had great success. We have stayed in every room on the property and it is always clean and smells great. The food is outstanding and we have never had a bad meal there. The guides take pride in putting you on game. We realize that this is a paid hunt and you are not going to kill something every time, but it’s not all about killing something. You need to take each visit as an opportunity to meet new friends and experience GODs glory! Thank you to Hunter, Ginger, Leroy, and all the staff for making each stay like we are coming home. You make us feel like family each time we visit! I highly recommend this lodge of your looking for the Ultimate hunting experience!!!!

Thank you Hunter, Leroy, Chase and the lovely ladies for an epic weekend. I could have not chosen a better group of people to spend Memorial Day Weekend with!
From the meticulous grounds, to the heaven like food, to the comfortable guidance and the camaraderie made between guests this was a trip for the books.
I am from the city and have never hunted in my life. To say my nerves were through the roof is an understatement. The informative email guides you on what you need and what to get. Check in was flawless and great with Hunter. We unpacked and had a group debriefing for the weekend. I was met with some of the most skilled hunters I’m sure I’ll ever meet in my life and boy were they some of the nicest and genuine people.
We were grouped off into 3 big groups and met our guide Chase. Chase had no clue what he was getting with this newbie from the city. His patience not only calmed my nerves but gave me confidence I desperately needed as I was hunting alone. Yup I was alone for all 4 hunts.
It was game time- and boy was I about to be shocked and have an experience of a lifetime. Not only did members of the group stay in contact with me the whole night, so did Chase. I got my first shot off a hog and my adrenaline was larger then the state of Alabama. Chase calmed me and this allowed me to enjoy the rest of my hunt. We didn’t retrieve the little sucker but it was an epic night for this girl!!!
Then next 2.5 days brought in laughter, and I mean a lot of laughter, amazing home cooked delicious meals and some once in a lifetime experiences.
Now I can not take full credit for any of my accomplishments without the absolute amazing team at GSO. Your knowledge and leadership was beyond measure and allowed me to experience something I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d ever do!! Although I did not get to bring home a hog like my other group members- I do have some epic stories and pictures!! Your set up allows for such great camaraderie and the ability to make new friends. Hope to see the Seabrooks and Grahams again in the future.
Hunter thank you for your leadership. Leroy thank you for your stories and tips. Chase thank you for your patience with my 595969 questions and ridiculous commentary to my night hunts. You guys are definitely professionals and know what you are doing. Chase- it was an honor to be part of your last groups. Good luck on your next endeavors.

We had a great time hunting at Great Southern! Hunter went out of his way to make sure everyone had a great experience. I took my 82 y/o father who has difficulty walking due to knee replacements, and Hunter made sure to take good care of him and put him in accessable stands that have him the best opportunity available to see many deer, and harvest his Alabama buck. Thank you Hunter! The food was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The weather didn't exactly cooperate, but Hunter and his staff went above and beyond to assist everyone as needed, and again, I can't stress enough about the efforts he put forth to assist my dad in any way he could think of to Ensure he tagged his Alabama buck. 5 stars!
