We stopped by the Grand Canyon Visitor Center IMAX with a tour group of 49 people. We watched the IMAX movie about the Grand Canyon, which I enjoyed very much. It is a good way to start to learn the history of Grand Canyon. We also had lunch there, finding it both time and cost-effective.

It was a free event since we purchased Pink Tour tickets. It was an interesting movie, helpful in understanding the Grand Canyon. I thought it might be more of a geological timeline, but the movie focused on early discoveries & the people's living in this area. Imagining James Powell and his 12-man crew consisting of 3 wooden row boats traversing down the Colorado River, especially the rapids, was almost unbelievable. But he survived and documented the journey. This was a major focus of the movie. The quiz at the beginning was fun, too!! Testimony your knowledge of the Grand Canyon ✨️

There are a few displays and info here but it's mainly for selling Jeep tours and imax movie ( which is great) and merch. Not a nps visitor center.
