This is my favorite place in Illinois! It’s such a gorgeous place & very fun to hike or sit on the rocks and take in the scenery. Do be warned, however, there are NO fences or anything blocking off the cliffs. If you have children please watch them closely, too many close calls here.. If you plan on visiting, please be mindful of the potential dangers. I absolutely love climbing the rocks to get better views, but definitely do it with caution! Overall, the “hike” here is pretty easy and doable for people of all ages! 🙂

Might not be a good time of year for an appropriate review. It was pretty and great to see and learn about the formations. Seams to have a lot of nice trails. Park was a bit dirty with litter on and off trails. Weather was not the best on this day, so we didn't hike many trails. Hope to come back when better conditions.

One of the best sites I visited in 2024!!! Wonderful scenery and beautiful rocks, you can climb, hike or just sit and enjoy the incredible view!! Differently unique and not too difficult to hike!! I would visit again ISA

GotG loop trail beautiful especially with the ice, but.. the most big down trees on a trail I've ever seen. The observation trail easy and gorgeous.

I had an amazing experience on this forest trail, definitely worth 5 stars! The scenery was breathtaking, with lush greenery, towering trees, and peaceful streams along the way. The trail was well-maintained, clearly marked, and offered a variety of terrains for different skill levels, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced hikers.

Such a beautiful park. I remembered going here when I was 12. Just took my husband and visited again 48 years later. Absolutely gorgeous. I have a bad knee but there was still a lot of easy hiking around. Good parking and clean restrooms.
