Review for Fury Water Adventures Key West

Our family had the pleasure of going on two excursions with Fury Water Adventures over New Year’s, and both experiences were absolutely unforgettable!

First Excursion: Kayaking and Snorkeling
We had a group 10 people and the boat had probably 25, and Fury’s team made sure everyone had a great time. The weather was perfect—sunny and inviting, and the water was a bit cool. The crew wisely recommended wetsuits for those who needed them, which made the snorkeling experience much more comfortable. We were lucky enough to spot dolphins on this trip, which was unexpected. The kayaking was peaceful and beautiful, and the sunset at the end of the day was breathtaking. The food and snacks were excellent, and the crew was incredibly accommodating, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and had fun.

Second Excursion: Dolphin Watching and Snorkeling
On New Year’s Day, we embarked on a dolphin-watching trip, and it exceeded all expectations. We were treated to an incredible show as four dolphins played and jumped together for an extended period. Our captain, Mathew, did an amazing job rotating with other boats so that everyone could have a respectful and unobstructed view of these majestic animals. It was the best dolphin show we could have asked for. Afterward, we went snorkeling again. The water was warmer this time, so fewer people opted for wetsuits, but the option was still there for those who wanted it. The wind picked up on the return trip, but it didn’t detract from what was a fantastic day.

A Special Shout-Out to Captain Mathew and Crew Member Chase
What really stood out on both trips was the exceptional professionalism, kindness, and knowledge of Captain Mathew and Chase. Mathew, with his calm Carolina charm, handled every aspect of the trip with grace and expertise far beyond his years. Chase was equally impressive, attending to everyone’s needs with an upbeat attitude and tireless work ethic.

Together, they created an experience that was not only fun but also deeply educational. They shared fascinating insights about dolphins, mangrove islands, and the unique lifestyle of Key West locals, from the challenges of high rent to the creative ways people live on boats and islands. Their teamwork and ability to engage everyone—from the shyest kids to the most curious adults—were truly remarkable.

Our group had such diverse needs, from grandparents who stayed on the boat, an active teenager on crutches and young kids yet Mathew and Chase ensured that everyone felt included and had fun. They managed to make the trip feel both personal and special for each participant.

If you’re considering an excursion with Fury Water Adventures, I cannot recommend them enough. And if you’re lucky enough to have Captain Mathew and Chase as your guides, you’re in for an unforgettable experience.

Mathew and Chase, if you happen to read this, thank you so much for everything. You guys are incredible, and we’ll always remember these amazing trips!

This was a great event! Our tour guide, Dan, did an amazing job guiding us around the island. We got some Key West history, a few stories, and interesting facts about the island and wildlife. My son (age 16) and I went and both wore sweatshirts and long pants. My son drove a jet ski for the first time and absolutely loved it. Out of the 20(ish) miles of cruising, he drove about 15 of them. I was a little nervous that we would get really wet but that didn't happen at all. If you don't want to get wet it is easy to drive more carefully and stay dry. On the flip side, you could certainly wear shorts and get soaked if that's what you want out of the tour. We got to see a completely different side of the island that I've never had a chance to explore, even after coming here seven or eight times over the last 25 years. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! A+++

Would have been great if it was rescheduled due to the fog! I booked the clear boat and sunset experience I didn’t get to see much because Eid the overcast and the sun not shining on the coral reefs which were pretty close but not as clear to see! I think this case would have warranties a reschedule particularly because it was listed on the site and I also paid extra for incidents like these as described on their site. They just don’t call it! Otherwise the staff was excellent, Tracy at the ticket booth. Zack at the snack bar on the boat and David our narrator. Very pleasant and informative. Knew his stuff, was funny and we enjoyed what he shared with us about the eco system down there. Thank you and wish I could have given you the 5 star but the experience was different under this cloudy conditions!
Note: I had the option with my added insurance purchase to reschedule but we already booked something else the following day and it was our last day. Wish we had one more day in the sun ☀️ for this one. Next time.

We took the Commotion in the Ocean sunset Cruise last week and we were extremely pleased. The staff was friendly, the band was great and played the whole cruise. Drinks and food included in price of the cruise which was very reasonable. Plenty of seating but we preferred to stand upstairs for the beautiful views. We were able to get some great pictures. Definitely recommend taking this cruise.

My Aunt and I went on the Snorkel reef and Rita’s. This was the coolest experience I have ever had. First time snorkeling and this crew was amazing. Captain Ron was so cool and patient, but his crew is where it’s at. The three ladies, Liv, Ari, and Ivy made this trip the best. They were amazing with my aunt who is older, they made time for everyone. Got everyone all set up, made us laugh and feel comfortable. They were aware of every person out snorkeling and took what they do serious. Then when we finished they made sure we were all taken care of with Rita’s and good conversation. This trip is a must! Thank you to Captain Ron, Liv, Ari and Ivy for everything you do. You made our day fabulous

This was a great day on the water! Our guide took us all around the island stopped a few times just to take in the sights the a nice stop at a sand bar to cool off. Then finished up with a cool ride in front of Fort Zachary! Highly recommend this one!

Fantastic! Above and beyond, so much fun. We did Commotion on the Ocean sunset cruise. The crew does an amazing job and are so fun!! They make sure your trip is so fun!! Highly recommended!!! The band rocked out, music was definitely fun!!

Did the Dolphin watch and snorkeling trip today 2-5 with Capt Nicole and Ana. Great crew and the weather turned out to be nicer than expected. My son and I enjoyed the trip very much and we saw dolphins, rays and other fish, so good day overall. I have to add a comment about people who don’t tip on trips like this. They take advantage of the service, but at the end walk by them with not even a thank you. I had my son give them the tip so he understands early on the importance. I guess I am sensitive being in the service industry. Anyway they deserve better.
