I am a return visitor after watching a flight during a family trip about 23 years ago. This time, I returned with my spouse and kids. I'm glad to see they're still giving tours!!! I'm pretty sure we had the same guide as one of the ones I'd had 23 years ago, so I'm hoping to look through my old photos soon and post or share that one, too. This is a perfect location to watch the sun set as you wait for the bats to take flight. There is also plenty of wildlife to see while waiting- our group saw deer, rabbits, birds of prey, cave swallows, and other birds that our guide identified. They teach you the history of the cave, along with facts about the bats. Our guide also showed us various stars, planets, and the International Space Station as it went by, which is what the moving "light" in the second video is.

3/25 UPDATE..... soooo glad we went last year bc this year we saw maybe 7 bats come out..... I guess it is early in their season and the cold weather kept them from migrating north from Mexico. hit or miss I guess. They say June through August is the best time for them.
4/24 OMG!!!! This was fantastic!!!!! There were MILLIONS of furry,cute, bug eating bats leaving their cave!!!! They were pouring out for over an hour when we left. Well worth the price to experience their nightly flight.

Best $12.50 spent! What an incredible value for the experience. We went the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.

When you arrive at the location you will park on either side of the gate off the road and wait for the people to come open the gate. In our case this was 7:27 PM. There is nothing to do but wait in your car so be aware of that. Once you get through the gate it is kind of a long, slow drive back to the parking area. The walk up to the cave is not that bad even if you have a 30 pound baby strapped to your back like I did.

As you wait for the bats to come out of the cave there is a very interesting information session. There’s 10-12 million bats that come out over a 3 hour period. They fly low and you can see the columns for miles as they depart on their journeys of 500-600 miles. There are two hawks that feed on the bats as they exit the cave and put on a fantastic aerial feeding show for you!

You can leave whenever you wish (the tour officially ends at dusk) and there are shirts and hats for sale as you leave.

Overall a great experience I would highly recommend for the value. You won’t be disappointed.

This was one of the most amazing experiences ever! We arrived to see the bars emerging and stayed a while to see the second flight. It’s important to arrive on time and wait outside the gate for the guide. The bat experience is on private owned property and it’s a long way from the gate/entrance. It’s not exactly a tour, but rather an experience. The guide is knowledgeable and once you arrive at the cave entrance (up a slightly steep incline) you wait for the bats to emerge-and boy do they!! Well worth it!

We had so much fun watching the bat flight! Fair price, great experience. Felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted to watch the bats. We were able to ask as many questions as we wanted and we learned so much. Super kid friendly!

You have to wait outside the gate (the earlier you get there, the longer the wait), you line up along the road in your car. They show up a little after 7 and you drive down a long gravel road to the spot. Sign waiver and climb a little steep hill to listen about the history of the bats and cave (very interesting) until the bats start appearing. He can answer any questions you have about them.

We loved hearing all the fun facts and cool information about the bats and cave. It was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend this trip. We were there in mid March and even though there were only thousands of bats not millions our guide said the only difference was the duration of the bats coming out.

Wow!! A must see, brought the Family to experience this awesome view of Nature. Just park outside the fence they will come n open the gate to come inside. You follow the tour guys in ur vehicle for 2miles, then park and walk up this small hill. The Tour will tell u important information about the 🦇. Just wait and experience this cool views.
