We went out on a 3 hr sunset sail and we had an incredible time. Both Capt. Claude and his wife Judy were not only knowledgeable and experienced sailors but endearing hosts as well...a rare find these days! Their sailboat Frayed Knot was truly impressive as well as impeccably maintained. Both Claude and Judy made the outing that much more enjoyable by being so personable and providing wonderful fresh fruit and snacks for the sail.

I would rebook the Frayed Knot for a future sail in a heartbeat...

This was the highlight of our entire trip. Claude and his wife are extremely knowledgeable and amazing hosts. We got to see amazing structures and islands and even learned some interesting facts. We got to swim and enjoy the beautiful waters. Claude even let some of us drive the boat (with supervision of course.) To top it all off we even got some complimentary goodies including some coozys and pens! Their hospitality was so incredible that it felt like we all knew each other for a long time. I will absolutely be booking the Frayed Knot next time we make this trip. Thank you again Claude and Judy!

Highly recommend the frayed knot and captain Claude! We had a wonderful sail on a Saturday in September to celebrate a birthday and it was so much fun. Claude and his wife Judy were very accommodating and we enjoyed every minute of the sail. Thank you again Claude and Judy!

I cannot say enough good things about this sailing charter on the Frayed Knot! We just went out for a day trip, but the boat is BEAUTIFUL and looks like it would make for a comfortable overnight stay as well! Claude and Judy really know their stuff and they were the perfect hosts for our day on the water. They are very accommodating and are happy to let their guests "set the vibe" of the sail. I can't wait to go out with them again!

What a fantastic experience chartering Frayed Knot from Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA! My husband chartered the boat to disperse his dad and his dad's wife's ashes in the sea, as was their wish. Everything went smoothly from the very beginning. Claude and Judy were there early and greeted us 11 all warmly. Even though the occasion was somber, everyone was comfortable and the curiosity of the kids to see the cabin and amenities was met with explanations and hospitality. As we headed out of the harbor, Judy appeared with a fruit, cheese and crackers plate along with water! They took us to Misery Island, where three generations spread the ashes in the sea. It all went off without a hitch. Claude and Judy were knowledgeable, personable and easy going. They even prepared a spiffy certificate with latitude and longitude to bring home. Thank you Claude and Judy!

I wish I could put into words how wonderful our sailing trip was on the Frayed Knot with Judy and Claude. From the moment we stepped on the dock for our overnight couple’s sail it felt like a dream of an experience. The sailboat is absolutely stunning and we were instantly comfortable aboard, from the beautiful finishings on the boat, to the warmth that radiates from Claude and Judy, it was perfect. We set sail late morning and were allowed to take the helm upon exiting the marina, which was a blast for my husband who hasn’t been sailing in years. Judy was so kind to serve delicious snacks while we traveled around the islands into Boston harbor under sunny blue skies. We then docked at a quiet marina near the USS Constitution and shared and Incredible lobster roll lunch courtesy of Judy. This fantastic location enabled us to then stroll around Charlestown and have a romantic dinner in the North End before returning to the boat for the evening at which point we shared wonderful cocktails and stories with Claude and Judy (they have hosted some truly incredible experiences on the Frayed Knot!). After sleeping in a beautiful cozy cabin we awoke to a mimosa breakfast with pastries and a morning sail through Boston harbor. The pictures were beyond incredible and I don’t think we could ever forget this experience. Thank you Claude and Judy for your incredible hospitality, patience answering all our sailing questions, laughs, and photography skills (Claude literally sailed out on another boat to get a full length picture of us on the Frayed Knot!). We cannot wait to sail with you again!

My husband and I had a two hour sailing lesson with Claude recently and we had such an amazing time! Captain Claude is super knowledgeable and experienced about all things sailing, but we also got a history lesson of the area too! His sailboat is top notch and super clean too! We could not have asked for a more positive instructional first time sailing lesson! Highly recommend Frayed Knot for all services they offer!

Frayed Knot is a beautiful, sparkling clean, fun boat operated by great people. I had a fantastic, relaxing afternoon on the boat with my family. My kids were so excited to be on a boat that 'even has a downstairs with rooms like a house!' There were vest style life jackets (way more comfortable than the classic orange neck wringer) and snacks and water. We even hung out on the bow for a little bit and enjoyed the scenery from there. Captain Claude and First mate Judy are relaxed and accommodating and clearly have lots of experience hosting fun adventures.
