They try to be helpful but they are overwhelmed. There is a severe lack of housing in Franklin County and too many people seeking assistance. Virtually NO private landlord wants these section 8 vouchers which really kind of makes them useless. It's a take what you can get system that leaves you little or no choice and puts you in a position where you constantly have to relocate. It's just not worth it. On top of that, if you want to try to earn a few bucks and work your way out of Section 8, they penalize you which kills your incentive to do anything.

They never answer the phone,even if you leave a message they don’t return your phone call. After calling for two or three days straight, The woman I did talk to had very condescending tone. She couldn’t answer any questions. she directed me to another person’s voicemail. Nothing but a big runaround .You should be able to get some sort of idea where you are on the waiting list so you can plan on getting your housing. It’s not that difficult not impressed at all. I wonder how people that have just gotten their retirement are now trying to line up someplace to live how do they actually survive? You can’t rent a place. very frustrating.
