Was a fantastic experience!! Sam was a great tour guide! She really knows her fossils! Got a couple 1 1/2" Maco sharks teeth and a bunch of tiger, lemon and snuggle tooth shark! And 1/2 a megalodon tooth! Wonderful experience! Will definitely come back!

We had an amazing day with our tour guide Shawn! The weather was perfect for fossil hunting! The airboat ride took us through a beautiful scenic landscape to get to our dig site. My 11 year old didn’t want to leave. He found so many hidden treasures in the big site! Looking forward to doing this again soon! Thank you guys for a great start to our long weekend!

Had an awesome time with Chris (owner) and all the folks at Fossil Recovery Exploration. We did the Premium Dig and had an amazing experience! Chris took the time to show my wife and I where and how to dig as well identified all of what we found! Found our best Megalodon to date among other great finds! Highly recommended!

We live locally in Florida and could not believe what was basically in our backyard! Chris and Sean were fantastic guides! They got our group up and running, showing us the essentials of how to dig for fossils in the peace river. They provided the tools, and on a day like we went, the wet suits too! Highly recommend the wet suit. In the words of Chris we found some absolute "smokers" (big teeth, cool finds, etc). Take advantage of the guide's wealth of knowledge as you dig because certain things look like nothing to the untrained eye, but really it could be a fossilized mammoth tooth or a glyptodon's she'll, which I didn't even know what a glyptodon was before meeting these guys. Understand the earth has what the earth has and even with the best guide, you may not get a megalodon tooth and if that's all your after, just buy one! To really enjoy the trip you should embark out in your canoe, airboat, or dry dig with the mindset of an explorer, excited to find what you find! I am so thankful for such a great group and cannot wait to try again!

Great family experience!
Our group ranged in age from early 20s to over 70. And fun was had by all!
Chris is super knowledgeable and helpful. We rode to the dig location on an air boat, it was cool in the morning (around 55 degrees) Chris had wet suits that we rented and it really saved the day, we found so many fossils and shark teeth! We had a great boat ride back and saw several alligators !
I loved that it’s a family business Chris’s wife and kids met us back at the drop off point and helped with gear and identification.
Thanks for a super fun day we will be back next year.

Excellent and professional organization made for a fun day! From the reservation and payment process, to the check-in and intro briefing, to the air boat ride, to the provided equipment, to the extensive knowledge and friendly nature of our guides, this organization is top-notch!! Memories to last a lifetime… we’ll be back and will recommend to all our friends. FYI, we are 40- and 50-something parents with a 9-year-old daughter. It was a 1:15 drive down from Lakeland with zero traffic.
