My experience with FJ Safaris was nothing short of spectacular. Starting in Nairobi, we traveled to the Amboseli National Park and were greeted by the sighting of dozens of elephants and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
From there, we journeyed to the Maasai Mara. The Mara delivered everything I hoped for going in—thrilling game drives, close encounters with the Big Five, and endless plains teeming with other wildlife. Best of all was experiencing the Maasai Tribe and their way of life.

I recently went on my first safari trip with Forrest James Safaris to Kenya in August and it exceeded any expectations I had. I honestly didn’t know what I expected but the entire experience from start to end was just incredible. This trip was an absolute breathtaking adventure the entire time. Every moment even before we actually started the safari was just great.

From the communication before the trip, the unreal accommodations, all the beautiful Kenyan people that assisted us along the way, the guides, the group itself, I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Forrest James Safaris had everything planned out perfectly.

Our guides, Harry and Steve were both phenomenal. You could really tell that they loved their job and were happy to be on the trip. Both of them were awesome guides and added to the experience overall. From the start they were both very welcoming, engaging, passionate, knowledgeable, attentive, and so fun to be on a safari with. Both of them are also are very talented photographers and they were great at assisting and educating everyone that was looking for help on furthering their photography skills and capturing those beautiful moments along the way.

Onesmus and Joe were our drivers for the trip.They were the best! Both of them were so kind, fun, knowledgeable, and were always able to position us in the best way possible to enjoy the animal sightings and to be able to capture the moments . I truly felt safe in their hands!

Overall, the whole trip was perfectly curated. As an avid traveler and former guide myself I think Forrest James Safaris knocked it out of the park! As a solo traveler, this was a great experience bringing together many like minded individuals and I think we’ve all left with a new group of adventure friends! The trip was exactly what I had hoped for and more. I am already looking to do another trip with Forrest James Safaris! Thanks for a beautiful experience, until next time!

I recently trusted Forrest James Safaris with coordinating a Mt Kilimanjaro climb for me and a group of friends. I’m so glad I did. Everything was absolutely perfect and Forrest went above and beyond to make sure our group received the best service possible. From the moment we landed in Tanzania, we were treated like royalty. We had better tents, better food, better porters, and a much higher level of service than any other group we saw on the mountain. Whether you’re planning a Kili climb, a great migration safari, or anything in between, you won’t find a better guide service anywhere in Africa than Forrest James Safaris.

Completed the Big 5 Safari out of greater Kruger with Forrest and can't say I had anything but a spectacular experience. All aspects of the trip were seamless and I was able to fully dive into the experience and not worry for a second about anything.

Forrest's knowledge of the wildlife and joy seeing not only our reactions to the different game we encountered, but to see his joy and excitement seeing the game himself was contagious.

Whenever anyone in the group needed anything he was there immediately to make sure we had what we needed and had a memorable experience. I can't mention his attentiveness enough, but going further, the relationship he clearly cultivated with the lodge staff, and guides, and trackers ensured that everyone was having the experience we were hoping for.

I can't recommend a trip with Forrest enough. Whether it is out of great Kruger, Kenya, or any of his other trips, he experience I had with Forrest has made exploring more of Africa a top priority, and his wealth of knowledge only makes me want to go sooner. I will most definitely be returning and taking another trip with Forrest.

My wife and I chose Forrest James Safari for our honeymoon in Kenya and we could not be happier with our experience. I have no doubt that our guides Forrest and Onesmus are the best safari guides in Africa. With their expertise and knowledge, we were fortunate enough to have the most spectacular wildlife sightings we could ask for. We saw the great migration in Maasai Mara National Reserve, the largest elephants in the world at Amboseli National Park, cheetah, jaguar, hippo, proper lions–you name it, we saw it all–up close and personal!

In addition their incredible safari expertise and knowledge of the parks and their inhabitants, Forrest and his team provided truly amazing experiences like daily breakfasts in the bush, and nightly sundowners with the most incredible vistas you could imagine. Our time in the Maasai Mara was particularly amazing, with a wonderful stay at the incredible Matira Bush Camp. Matira is an authentic bush camp operated by members of the Maasai. Forrest has an excellent relationship with all of the lovely folks at Matira, and we felt SO welcomed and taken care of during our special trip.

Our time with Forrest James Safaris in Kenya was honestly life-changing, and I recommend anyone even thinking about safari to go with Forrest James Safaris. I will also add that while our trip was priceless, FJS's prices are VERY reasonable, and it was worth every cent. You won't be disappointed! I will absolutely be booking a trip again.
