This trip was on a whim to take a short trip out of Los Angeles and I googled The Cat house, an old article from AAA magazine I read years ago, and unfortunately the place closed; but I was happy to find this place.
At first I was spectacle about the cages and I envisioned a sad place, but I was so glad I made the trip. My best advice is have low expectations and in the end you’ll be happy you went.
The place is clean and maintained, the animals appear content and very healthy. The storefront is so quaint and clean. It’s very picture friendly for those who are about that stuff. Be warned there is a 1 mile dirt road so have good tires. I highly recommend this place and it’s better than the big zoos. The employees could be a whole lot friendlier, but I recommend this place and I will do online donations. Bravo.

Super worth it. Wonderful little sanctuary they have. All the animals are very cared for and the staff are super chill ? the fact that they have so many variety of animals too is amazing. Worth taking the family and kids here. This place is A little hidden gem up here in the high dessert

Good place to spend 1-2 hours. Though it's small, they have a good variety of animals from small reptiles to large cats. The facility seems well maintained and the staff were friendly. Additional fees apply for extra experiences like animal feedings. My family did the barn feeding experience and that was fun for our younger kids.

A cool ? little zoo in the middle of the desert ? . You have to take one dirt road to get there but it's worth it. It's was under $10 per person to get in, and they have some very cool animals. I was not expecting to see a bear, alligators, and multiple tigers at this location. So if your in the high desert ? you have to check ✔️ this place out.

Absolutely loved my time here. Our tour guide (Josh I think) was so knowledgeable and gave a brief lesson on each and every animal at the facility. He was very personable and funny too. I'd absolutely recommend the guided tour. We then did the extreme feed, which I also recommend (check Groupon). Will definitely go again!

Thanks to the people that create spaces like this for animals in need.

These animals are seemingly happy to have a place to be fed and cared for. It is true that once an animal has been taken care of by humans they can no longer hunt and fend of predators in the wild the same, so while I don't support places that create this problem in the first place for animals, I definitely support sanctuaries like this that step up to try and take care of them.

After researching and discovering how expensive it is to feed these animals alone, I realize why they had to rescue from others that could probably no longer afford to keep going. I hope to see more donations helping these places continue to care for these amazing creatures.

Their enclosures are nicely spaced so they can move around good, better than some of the pictures make it look.
