Not just archives, but it houses a large exhibit of American Illustrations showcasing World War 1. These were featured in ‘Ladies Home Journal from November 1918 to nov 1919 as ‘Souvenir Pictures of the Great War’. Some of these were created by Delaware artists Frank E Schoonover and Gayle Porter Hoskins.

You will also find the USS Delaware Silver Service set pieces along with artifact from the ship. Beautiful works of silver that are amazing.

You can also pick up brochures for places in all 3 Delaware counties. Very well stocked up with local magazines as well.

Glad that our first stop in Dover was to the free Welcome Center. The guide at the front desk was friendly and helpful. She provided a map of the sites around Heritage Park and told us about the free historic walking tour offered daily. There are lots of brochures about attractions around Delaware and the Brandywine Valley. You can park for free in their visitor center with no time limit. The Delaware Public Archives is attached to the center.

The woman at the front desk was very helpful. For a welcome center I’d expect more brochures especially from the state capitol. Had a nice little exhibit though.

This is a great constellation of living history museums the state archives and legislature. Tours are easy to set up for your class group; and if you want to visit there is no fee for parking or admittance. Lots of great portraiture of Delaware notables throughout our history.

Seems to have been closed or removed -- there are no galleries open and information is scant. The front desk employee seemed surprised to see us. Public restrooms are available, but that's the only reason to stop in.
