I hired the Evans Event Service group for my mother's 65th surprise birthday party. We had an outstanding experience working with the event staff. Look no further than Evans Event Service. Fiona and her team were hands down a God send for us on our wedding day. They were professional, diligent, and instructive. But above all else, their attention to detail was on point.

The team met with us the day before for the rehearsal/walkthrough and Fiona stuck around an extra hour or so because it rained, and we only got 1 rep in. Because she stayed, we were able to do the walk through twice which really helped iron out the procedure with our wedding party. Also, on the weeks that led up to the wedding her team took over full communication with our vendors which was a massive stress reliever. On the day of the wedding, she provided us with all of the necessary information within the venue: Wi-Fi, etc. She also came into the groom’s suite at one time and said that we were (scarily) quiet and that the bridal suite was having the time of their lives. This got the room fired up, the music playing, and good vibes all around. She was funny, yet serious – just what our group needed to hear in that moment.

Without Fiona and her team, our wedding would have been a disaster. There were a number of issues that we, and our guests, had no idea about. First, we had issues with a bounce house vendor. We won a bounce house in an IG raffle, and the vendor was really challenging to get ahold of. Fiona handled that with ease by politely contacting the vendor in a professional and firm reminder of proper business practices and ethics. Further, the bounce house deflated during the ceremony, but no one knew. Why? Because Fiona and her team handled it. There were also issues with vendors trying to charge us for extra hours of labor, but Fiona kindly referred them to the contract in what was agreed, and they withdrew their absurd demand. During the ceremony there was issues with the mic from our DJ. While I started reading my vows, the mic on the officiant’s lapel went off. The DJ just kind of stood around there and didn’t do much, but Fiona was on it within seconds. She problem solved and handled it immediately. While this was not her problem, she provided the solution.

Again, these issues were not because of Fiona or her lack of preparation, but rather the other vendors. However, Fiona and her team took care of them like true professionals. Her team also kept reminding us to eat and drink water throughout the day which is really important – something you don’t quite understand until the day of your wedding. She also packed up full plates of food for us so when we left and got back to the hotel after the wedding, we would have something to eat and drink.

I can’t say enough good things about this business, so I will finish with this: If you hire this company to plan and organize your wedding, you will not be disappointed. In fact, you will likely be writing a 5-star review just like I am today (the day after our wedding). That’s how good they are. Support this business and you will experience a stress-free day that you can enjoy without any worry. Their attention to detail and professionalism is of the highest standard.

I got married a little over a year ago. I found Fiona's business on Thumbtack and saw great reviews. She was kind, knowledgeable, and somewhat affordable for what we needed - waiters and servers for a buffet line at our wedding, then assistance at the after party. However, there were a few challenges that I am still not happy with. I was nervous that our headcount was at about 250 people and was concerned about how she and her staff would be able to keep the line moving within the time we allotted. She spoke confidently that she had experience with 4 servers and with that amount of people. I think that was a lie. This did not come through at all for us. First off, it was a challenge getting time with her the week before my wedding and she missed our rehearsal which was meant to get her familiar with the location and final needs. We spoke over a call instead and I could just pray it would all go well. Wedding day gets here and everything seemed orderly, food dished and laid out nicely and all, until it was time for the buffet line. She and her staff did not move the line as needed. It took over 2 hours to get everyone their food. Since it took up so much time, we had to skip parts of the ceremony and it became rushed. It threw the whole flow off. Then, we went to our second location, and there were issues there too. It all came down to communication issues. Lastly, the cherry on top, when there were issues with plates and silverware not making their way to the second location, her staff was seen drinking our wine and liquor. I wish someone took a photo, but it was disappointing all around. It's been a year until I've been able to write this review because I needed to come across objectively and give her the benefit of the doubt. But things could have gone so much smoother if she paid more attention, didn't let on to say she can do things when she really couldn't just to get paid, had more professional staff, etc. I'm all for supporting black women in business, especially, but by the end of my wedding day and still to this day, my family, husband, and I wish we had picked a different business.

Nasty owner who is unprofessional and rude. Doesn’t take responsibility for mistakes o short comings and also goes off on customers in reviews. Please see my review and owners response of review down below. Then read other negative reviews and see how this organization is unable to accept RRSPECTABLE feedback. Part of customer service IS listening to how you could improve. Disgusted and Would highly suggest working with someone else.

Edit: first I didn’t reschedule a call I said that time you scheduled on a Sunday morning would not work because I have CHURCH. It was unprofessional for you to try to schedule a business call on a Sunday morning. I worked with you anyway and accepted the Sunday afternoon.

We AGREED and a three hour minimum which I clearly wrote in the review. And she agree to send ME and invoice for TWO waiters for THREE hours. Where she’s getting that I requested an invoice for an hr I have no idea. What a disappointmently vial person so respond so harshly and negatively to reasonable criticism. I would wish failure on this company but she’s doing that herself.
