My family spend four nights in two rooms over Christmas. There was a power failure during some of that time, but the hotel handled it well. It just lasted for an hour or so.

The pool and hot tub were nice. The rooms are well done though a little bit old. The breakfast got quite overrun over the holiday break. The laundry room is also a bit dingy. Machines smelled, that sort of thing. One of our rooms had an odd smell the entire time. Like the vent stack on the bathrooms was backed up or something. We remedied this by keeping the balcony door open whenever possible.

Hotel is in a great location.

Jerrika at the front desk and Ruby at the manager's reception really stood out for good customer service.

The room was nicely set up but was honestly dirty. We called down several times to ask them to sweep and clean the bathroom. Nothing came of it until we gave our cleaning lady $20.. and although it was better the grout in the shower was filthy, the toilet had black rings around the top, the shampoo and body was were broken off the wall… there were 4 of us in the room and they NEVER gave us more than 2 towels.. we called every day for towels and waited at least 1-2hrs to get another 2 towels.

Coffee and cups came in short supply and we had to ask for it daily.

The swimming pool was broken day 1 and when we went to the front desk to ask we were told NO it’s heated at 65 degree.. we later complained because the water was cloudy, freezing, and NO towels in the pool area..

The grill/ bar area was closed on Saturday by 8:30pm we ended up door dashing a pizza which cost $45..

Breakfast was great and everyone was treated fairly and asked for their card.. loved the omelet/ egg bar! Coffee and juice were great! Location was within 25min to Disneyland, 40min to a Universal Hollywood, about 35min to Seal Beach, 45ish min to Venice and Santa Monica..

We also enjoyed the set up of the hotel rooms where we got a living room area and a sleeping area!

Good centralized location visiting all directions in LA, the neighborhood is quite with a church, library, grocery stores and fast food restaurants nearby. There was a power outage in the area before we checked in and the receptionist gave us two bottles of water, power went out again that night so we went to bed, but apparently there was a party going on right after the power came back and it was noisy throughout the night. The rooms looked like it was recently remodeled, but other than the rooms, everything else is outdated, tearing apart or simply need a lot of work. There was no towels in the pool area and the pool itself did not seem clean, I never saw any staff spending any time inside doing maintenance. Breakfast was decent and Jose the omelette chef was very professional and nice. Evening reception was not bad, but lack variety of snacks. Parking was $18 a night, but I suggest just parking at the public lot since it's free, there's absolutely no difference so save your money. There was a high school band that checked in on our last night, and some of the kids were up past midnight making a lot of noise, but none of the hotel staff were around to say anything. I don't think I will stay at this hotel again, for the money I expected better, I'll consider other options in different areas in the future.

Rented 3 rooms for my family, so we could all be together, and let them know ahead of time. They said they could accommodate this request. When we arrived they had one room on a different floor and two rooms opposite ends of the floor. The happy hour was a joke, with peanuts, pretzels and celery sticks for hourderves. Oh I forgot cold chips and jar salsa. We've stayed at many Embassy Suites, this was by far the worst. I booked purposefully 2 month in advance because we were leaving from Long Beach for our family Christmas cruise. No one ever told me that they would be hosting a huge Christmas party the Friday night 12-20-2024 that we were there. The music was so loud it shook the walls. I called the front desk as we had 10 of us that had driven hours to arrive, and had hoped for a quiet relaxing evening and early bed time. No such luck the party went on until midnight. So disappointing. Never will stay at this location again.

I made my reservation a month prior and checked in yesterday on the Hilton app. My room was not ready till 4:30 when I go to my room it was one king size bed. I did not receive any phone call message or email to notify me of change I went to front desk and the supervisor did not care to make any accommodations for me that I had to wait till Friday to speak with Lori the manager as a Hilton member I would think they would have better service for me.

Worst stay we've had in a long time. I remember when Embassy Suites used to be considered a luxury stay, but not anymore, the quality has gone down substantially.

We were told at check in that our room would be serviced daily, but in our 4 night stay, our room was only cleaned once and that one cleaning we had to request several times. The elevators are frequently used by employees, so you had to wait a long time every time you used them. The mattresses felt old and worn and were very uncomfortable. The breakfast was not what it used to be and never changed. We were offered the same items everyday without any bacon.

The worst part of our stay was the AC. The hotel controlled the temp in your room and you will not be able to adjust it. There is actually a sign on the wall that says if the temp outside is between 50-70, there will not be any heat or AC, only a fan. The rooms were hot, humid and stuffy. We had to open the balcony door to cool off the room. We will never stay here again. Do yourself a favor and choose The Springhill Suites for your next stay in Downey.

They had parties in their event halls that blasted music enough to vibrate walls and people screaming in the reception area that would echo through every level of the hotel
This would go on every night (including weekdays) until midnight- we were on the fifth floor with the event halls being on the ground floor. Quiet hours are not enforced. Would not recommend if you're looking for a peaceful stay and sleep. Other people have complained about dirty rooms but I guess we lucked out there and had gotten a clean room. However, we still feel like we should have looked elsewhere when planning our trip.

In terms of a hotel, it is not bad. The location was convenient and the rooms were clean. A nice view as well. However in terms of Embassy Suites quality, this place falls very short. When I stay at an Embassy, I pay a little more to enjoy it.

This place's amenities were terrible. Broken elevator was the first thing we noticed. The one elevator that is working is almost always filled in the morning with workers who refuse to make room for hotel guests which should be common courtesy.

The cooks who make the complimentary breakfast are rude and refused to give me breakfast because the front desk failed to inform me I would need a "breakfast card" this is the first time I stayed at an Embassy and heard of this card. Once I got the card from the front desk the cooks had even more of an attitude as if I did not do what they asked or something. Breakfast itself was lackluster and did not have nearly as much options as the other Embassy's we've stayed at.

When completing my booking online I had to pay an additional 17 dollars a night for parking. When at the front desk I inquired if there was a hang tag or something as the parking lot was not gated and was told nothing was needed. So what differentiates my car who paid an additional fee from any random joe who parks in the lot?

Definitely would not stay here again for the cost.
