In the mornings this place is very peaceful and the perfect setting for an exercise routine. I love riding my bicycle amd see the deers along the path, then, when I arrive to the lake front there I find swans and gooses. It's delightful!!

Very great staff that alerted us to the high population of mosquitos we were about to encounter. Great place to do a day long hike. There's lots of electricity which makes me worry about how it affects the plant and wildlife. The preserve is just nearby a neighborhood that is surrounded by electrical towers and cabling. It's concerning but I doubt my concerns will be able to address the millions of dollars it would cost to help those residents.

Eggers Grove is a bicycling path but it is walkable as well. The trail is long and very scenic.

The long term ecological restoration in the woodland is coming along beautifully! I've never seen so many jack-in-the-pulpits or mayapples before. We were there in the golden hour and looked west across to the bike path to see another family watching the seven deer in between us settle down for a rest. Quite a touching nature experience in the city of Chicago and the wild Calumet.
