October 2022:

I was really looking forward to using this venue for my sisters baby shower. But we got a call the day BEFORE and they told us they had double booked for the same day but sadly our event got canceled. I give 3 stars because she did try her best to accommodate us with her other venue location but our guest count was just too many. Also she did give us a full refund for the huge inconvenience.
I will also just say that we booked the venue almost 2 months in advanced and they had plenty of time to double check their books and let us know. Hopefully in the future this won’t happen.

Update: I had to take away 2 stars for a reason. I had my personal baby shower here back in March 2023 and the day of the baby shower was a complete mess. We weren’t notified until the DAY OF that one ONE WALL had power and the bathroom. Meaning, everything had to be connected to ONE power surge, which was a complete fire hazard to begin with. We had food to keep warm, backdrops to light up. There was extension cords everywhere and looked completely tacky. I thought I was going to get some type of money back to compensate for the huge inconvenience but only thing I got back was my deposit. There also wasn’t enough tables/chairs for my guests and there was only about 105 people, and the venue falsely advertises for 150 guests to seat comfortably. I just wouldn’t recommend the venue.

My husband and I want to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the owners of E&E Center for Events, Ebony and Essence!!! We had an unexpected wrinkle in our decor plans. They answered my LATE text the night before the event and helped us make sure our aunt's 81st Birthday Paty was a success!! They are genuine, good-hearted beautiful people, and we appreciate them for going the extra mile. Lavish facility with all the bells and whistles needed for an elegant occasion....love the chandeliers! We highly recommend this company, and we'll certainly use them again for future events.

I needed an event space for my Twins 16th birthday dinner and Essence was very accommodating. From the food recommendations to the decorations, everything presented was top notch. I will definitely book this event space again!

Horrible experience rented event hall for the whole day, building was not finished on the day of my event. Contractor still was working during the time I rented this hall while my decorator was setting up, with dust and paint everywhere.
