I think this is the best beach in South Florida. It's never overly crowded has decent restaurants and parking. It's also a boat launch and a restaurant and you really feel like you're with nature. This is more of a beach for locals not for tourists which makes are very nice. I just hope the good review doesn't spoil it.

One of my favourite state parks. Great beach access, easy paths through the lake. Plus you can rent paddle boards and kayaks on Whiskey Creek. There’s also a popular dive/snorkel spot (the Jax) just offshore the southern part of the park.

Loved the park, great beach with plenty of parking. Hired a kayak and really enjoyed padding through the mangroves. Interesting history too!

This is one of my favorite parks in Broward County. I almost hate to let the word out as I want to keep it for myself! But it is a beautiful little natural strip next to the beach and a great spot to rent paddle boards and kayaks. We usually paddle to the first bridge, then get out and walk over to the beach to explore and chill. Be sure to bring water with you.

I love being able to select numerous beach areas to park. Clean restrooms. The coral reef is just a few yards off shore. Bring dive flag. No life guard here. Must be a strong swimmer. It's my favorite place to kayak to from west lake park via whiskey creek

This state park is absolutely stunning. My colleagues and I came here to go for a nice swim and it was beautiful.

The water is crystal clear, the beach itself is ginormous and spacious, and has ample space for sunbathing! The beach connects directly with the Atlantic Ocean so the water is saltwater!

There is a connecting bay to the beach where we docked our boat and walked through the greenery and shrubs to get to the main path. There are protected sand dunes so some of the entrances were blocked off.

All manner of seabirds and crustaceans can be found here and the water was so refreshing. It is a must-visit place if you’re visiting Fort Lauderdale!

This state park is fantastic! I went to a local baitshop, and they provided me with direction to fish here. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to land anything.

This location is huge. It seemed like there were miles of beach. So many people were swimming, laying in the sun, and enjoying the Florida sunshine. The park rangers were very helpful with my questions.

Be advised that there is a $4.00 per person charge to enter the park. They do accept credit and debit cards and cash.

This is my favourite way to visit the beach. You pay a flat fee; there were just 2 of us, I've gone with 2 other people as well and they charged us the same but I don't know if for large parties they charge a surplus. It was $6 at the time we went and you can stay however long you want.

Warning: I've never seen a life guard here
