About to start a tour, grounds are lovely, BUT
1) you are required to sign a liability waiver before entering
2) it’s not ADA accessible
3) no photos inside the home
4) they ONLY TAKE CASH.
Having said all that, the tour was fantastic, and well worth the extremely low admission price. The home is beautifully furnished and well maintained and tells an amazing story of the owners, the times they lived in, and the area’s industry. The grounds are beautiful and there is a steam engine and caboose on the property as well.

For years, I drove by the Dillon home, and never even knew that you could take a tour of it… I finally got the chance to do so a couple of weeks ago and I was totally amazed by not only the tour guide Candance and her knowledge but also the interior design, outfits from the time period, and cool wall coverings/furniture. It’s like taking a step back in time and there’s so much to see in every direction you look. I love the historical facts that Candance provided and my son absolutely loved going on the steam train out back. My only suggestion is that patrons be allowed to take photos as I think the photos themselves would bring people here in droves to see this place which should be a national monument if it isn’t already. What I wouldn’t give to attend a roaring 20s party here like I did at the Crane Estates in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
If you haven’t checked out this gem of historical amazingness in your backyard, I would highly recommend it! P.S. as a business owner, I realize the incredible expense of taking credit cards, so I was grateful that we only had to pay five dollars because I know that cost would have been more if credit card processing fees were involved.

We had a wonderful visit today and it happened to be a free day! The guide is very welcoming and friendly. The house and grounds are in amazing shape, cool antiques inside that takes you back in time. This place is highly recommended if you are visiting town, there is also a steam engine train in the rear yard that is super cool as well.

My wife and I stopped for a visit today. The architecture and mouldings are remarkable. Hard to believe everything has remained unchanged for so many years. The young lady giving tour was very knowledgeable about the family and home as well as the business of family. Definitely worth the stop. Would like to go back in the spring or summer . Keep the clock wound up 😉
