We went here to experience “the bathtub” and it was really quite nice experience. The water level was so low in the river that my kids, my dog and I were able to cross it without it going more than waist deep on my 5 year old. We saw snakes and lots of small fish. Very cool area! Took a canoe out on the water with my friend and got some great closeup experiences with a lot of wildlife you would otherwise never notice. The day my friend and I went out, there were close to 200 American White Pelicans on the water, Belted Kingfishers and Caspian Terns diving for fish within 30ft of the canoe, and several other species of waterfowl. Great place to relax on the water or see some interesting birds especially during migration.
