As their website indicates, the Daniel Stebbins House is truly a home away from home experience. It was just what the doctor ordered for this Cape Cod couple. A last minute decision to jump into the Holyoke St. Patrick's Day Road Race meant that we needed a cozy spot to stay post race. The windy and hilly conditions during the 10K warranted a little bit of pampering...and that's just what we got at The Daniel Stebbins House. The old charm embraced us upon arrival not to mention the warm reception from the wonderful host, Richard, as we drove into the driveway. The room was exceptional and had everything that we needed to relax and get a good night sleep. From the comfortable bed and linens to the high quality shower (and water pressure) we knew that all the important boxes were checked. But it was the extras that made this B &B really standout- the second floor view was lovely looking out onto Mt. Holyoke College, the gas fireplace made the room toasty on a cool Spring night and the breakfast the next morning was as delicious as previous reviews mentioned. Ruth and Bill are delightful and authentic! Can't wait to return again someday!

We stayed here for my husband's birthday. Ruth and Richard could not have been nicer and we loved chatting with them over breakfast. The entire place feels absolutely magical. The rooms are elegant, comfortable, and beautiful. Everything at this Bed and Breakfast was tended to with a lot of heart, soul, and skill. It felt like stepping into a gorgeous alternate universe. And Ruth makes the best cranberry muffins you'll ever have! Highly recommend.

My partner surprised me with a visit to the inn as I had expressed an interest in visiting due to my familial connection to the Stebbins Family. My 10th great-grandfather, Rowland Stebbins, is Daniel's 4th great-grandfather.

We had a wonderful time chatting with Ruth, Richard, and other guests. Breakfast was lovely and the croissants were the chef's kiss!

We will definitely be back when the outside temperature is warmer to help experience more of the area!

My daughter and I stayed at Daniel Stebbins House in November. I am still warmed by how lovely it was! Richard and Ruth define what it means to host well and make guests feel at home. The comfortable four poster bed, working fireplace and fresh croissants in the morning —highlight of 2024 for me!

We had a lovely stay at the inn. The room was cozy, charming and comfortable. The inn keepers are delightful and thought of every way to make us feel at home and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! And Richard even went above and beyond and cleaned off our car of snow. I highly recommend this inn and plan to return!

Wonderful early autumn October 2024 stay. Comfortable, peaceful, extremely clean, well-located historic inn on lovely grounds (including a mature gingko tree and beautiful holly) with warm and welcoming hosts (Ruth & Richard) and an excellent self-serve continental breakfast with inn-baked treats. Easy walk to Village Commons and Mt. Holyoke Campus. Easy drive to Amherst or Northampton. We think this is truly a gem and look forward to returning. We were attending my wife's 50th college reunion and spent three nights in the Daniel Stebbins House. The excellently restored and maintained house, originally built in 1795, is "the perfect B&B" experience. Large comfortable immaculate rooms, excellent beds, on-site parking, a fully stocked kitchen and an intelligent on-site owner couple provided a delightful experience. The small New England town of South Hadley is home to Mt. Holyoke College, oldest of the original Seven Sister colleges that mirrored the original predominately male Ivy League. The B&B is within very close walking distance to both the charming unspoiled walkable town and college. It's also just fifteen minutes south of Amherst College and I-95, into the Green Mountains of Vermont.

Had the best time staying with Ruth and Richard! They were welcoming, kind, and very accommodating (we had some specific requests since we came with our 2 year old). The breakfast was delicious, and we had great conversations with the other guests at breakfast. Whenever we are back in the area, we’ll stay here!
