Wow! What an awesome experience it was staying at Crows Peak Tents. The description on HipCamp and on Crowspeak.co is accurate. The price is very reasonable. Our host, Abby, was very responsive and quite a delight to meet!

This site is remote enough that you feel isolated but the tents provide the luxury you could not get tent camping on your own. Our tents were spacious with lights inside and on the deck out front. I particularly liked the very comfortable queen sized bed. I slept well to say the least. I was also grateful for plenty of charging capability and for the propane cook stove the host provided. Probably the most memorable moments were sitting in the dark gazing at the night sky which was beyond incredible! I added a couple of pictures. Another thing I didn't think much about beforehand but sure appreciated was how quiet it was, especially at night.

Here are some of the "roughing it" aspects, if you like the idea of luxury but still want the backcountry feel: 1) There is no running water available so no showers. And there is a shared port-a-potty on site. I brought my own bedding and what was needed to keep somewhat clean. The toilet wasn't too far away from any of the tents, so that was nice. 2) As I mentioned before, the tents are set in a pretty remote spot away from Terlingua Ranch Road. We could see headlights below but couldn't really hear the cars. Quail wandered through our camp in the evening. That was the only wildlife that visited us. We did see a javelina near the turn to Crows Peak Rd one evening but never saw or heard any in camp.

We traveled to this area to do some birding and this place turned out to be a pretty good base camp for getting to all the birding hotspots we wanted to visit. Nothing out there is a short drive but the drive south from our camp to the west entrance of the park took less than an hour. We were also less than two hours away from Davis Mountains SP and Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center. to our north.

I would highly recommend a stay at Crows Peak Tents!
