Love the specialty drinks, some of the bands, and the location couldn’t be better. They have heaters when it’s cold, drop shutters for the rain, and what a view. You can also get here by boat.
Weekends very crowded, for parking and seating.

food was good, atmosphere good, nice music, relax nice little spot…only bad thing was the waitress we got she was rude from the beginning till the end, took her more then an hour just to get our order, then another hour or more to bring the food, then she brought the adults food first and my kid last when we were almost halfway done (he only got a burger from the kids menu)and the burger meat was half raw, never brought us water, she didn’t even bother to ask how we were doing…and at the end expected a tip from us, which we don’t mind tipping at all we’re actually really good tippers, but she didn’t earn it or deserve it…didn’t get her name but she’s blond short lady… terrible service from her.

Edit: We returned to the Crab Shack with our family but we're very disappointed to see people smoking. When we asked about this, they stated it's allowed in the "bar area" even though there is nothing separating the areas. The service was not as good this time and we were very cramped fir seating. We asked to be further from the music this time, thank goodness, but it was still fairly loud. The people singing were often not even on key and we did not enjoy the "ambiance" this time. We liked the cats that are walking around. This was our only real entertainment. I do not think we will be suggesting this place to anyone or returning here after this. My husband also found a slug from a bullet in his gator nuggets. So if you order BE CAREFUL.

Original post: This is a neat little restaurant right on the river. It was hot out but they had fans which helped as we sat under the main tiki area. I loved looking out at the river. There was a band playing which was SO loud that my husband and I had to yell at each other across the table to talk. That part wasn't pleasant. The wait staff were all friendly.
Now about the food... the clam chowder was wonderful! Coconut shrimp were good but the sauce it came with was a watery mess. We tried them with the Shack sauce and it was MUCH better! For our mains, we got the clam straps and gator nugget baskets. Both were good and came with a generous amount. My husband said the gator was cooked well and it went well with the Shack sauce that it comes with. Our only issue with the food was the fact that they brought our appetizers out followed almost immediately by our main meals. We will definitely be returning here though and would recommend it! We weren't able to get any oysters this time around as they can't get any right now but I am hopeful to get some on our next visit.

Great atmosphere and great service. Went on a Wednesday at 6 pm and was served immediately. Our waitress was a vet tech, forgot her name but so social and nice and always checking on us to make sure we were good. Food was good also, burger was the only alright of the bunch the rest was great and cheap.

I’m in the area for an extended work trip and decided to try this place out because of its waterfront appeal. It was exactly what I was expected and wanted, a laid back no frills open air bar with food. What surprised me was how great the burger was. Great tunes playing, fantastic atmosphere, good beer, tasty food.

1st time here....Drinks Good, Atmosphere nice, Band okay, Service by Sassy Great, thanks! Now the food~ I will use the word Mediocre...The wings were good, but I would prefer my wings coated better with the clump of red pepper sauce under them. The Snow crabs are a bit small for clusters and water logged decent flavor but cold served when they came. The fries had a soggy crunch to them aka cold again. But, thankfully the onion rings were delicious. Honestly the place is a 4.5star! I think we just had a bad draw on the 1st attempt, we'll try again sometime.

Great place on the water without the high prices. Will definitely be back and look forward to when their full menu is available again.

Ari provided fast and friendly service and gave us helpful hints on top items.

We had
onion rings - It comes with ā€œshack sauceā€ and it’s a great marriage between an Asian chili sauce and teriyaki flavor.

Smoked fish dip- Mahi fish. Was good, husband enjoyed.

Fish and chips- French fries were delicious and the cod was cooked perfectly; crunch on the outside and flakey on the inside.

Chef special: Mahi Tacos - husband loved them so much he kept eating while dying from being full. Haha.

*Did I mention you are right on the water? We found this place by chance and can’t wait to return.
