I wanted to wait until enough time has passed to give my review.

The fleet team that I was on treated me very well. I started with regular Covenant freight but quickly got my endorsements and switched over to Estes Wild Cats. They never gave me issues and they let me do my job. In turn I made sure to keep open and honest communication about any issues that occurred. Win win situation.

Things are never perfect and that is something that people who get into this field need to keep in mind. There were times where I had to wait for a load, where it was hard to reach the weekend crew but eventually I adapted and found ways to work around it.

My experience has been rewarding. At the very beginning, it was *very* rough. Especially with my first co driver. But once I made the switch and found a stable co driver, things got a lot better.

401k matching is great. The pay is *very* good. I just recently got a new 2025 truck because the last one I had was in the shop for over a week.
They *do* treat their drivers well, just have to do your job and show that you care about it.

I'm glad that I decided to stick with them long term. ā¤ļø

I wanted to add that at this point in time I have been with the company for over a year and some months.

Pros: Pay
Cons: Quality of employees to team up with is crap (second chance company)
Training center food is trash
Trainer feet Stank you get stuck with them for 145 hours…
Sleeping/ living in a moving truck is not for everybody please do your research before signing a contract with this company! Plan ahead my trainer only stopped at the TA locations and the food choices are unhealthy makes sense why truck drivers are obese and have health problems.
There are government resource programs that will pay for your CDL so you’re not forced to be miserable with this company. If you quit they won’t pay for your way back keep that in mind. You’re only been paid 600$ a week for 3-4 weeks of training, I had to wait an extra week because there was no trainers available, choose your teammate wisely my partner quit after one week of training and had to wait another week to be back otr with another trainer and teammate. The shuttle only takes you to Walmart and nearby places is a small town, there are buses so you can tour and not get stuck in the dorms.

You guys have a driver that hit my truck my truck and tried to run off from the accident. 10/24/2024. Virginia into Maryland. I495 northbound. Truck number 231187. Trailer number 45826. Roughly 3:15-3:20pm. It took 4-5 miles for me to catch up and finally get them to stop. DO BETTER.

My husband is being out there for two week siting in that truck doing nothing for almost 2 weeks. Always a new excuse. not loads provided for 24 hours, they had scheduled a pick up in the morning for the eod 11pm and 10:30 pm load was cancel it. A new load was given to him and his partner next day morning to pick up at 7:00pm. Two day waiting after a week of $300 paycheck. Crazy how this truck companies play with people and families. This job is overwhelming and on top my husband is out there to provide food for our family not to sit there and see sunrise and sunset and not getting paid enough. Not even mention conditions and spending while you are there. We have 3 kids at home waiting for the loads as well. Stay away from these companies. Its not worth it.

Cons- everything
Pros- the people seem nice and helpful.
I'm sure all of the executives, salesman, and the how do you do office folks earn a good living off the backs of the drivers. I'm pretty sure not one of those pretty office people are welling to stay in those and eat that food. They couldn't even afford an actual fitted sheet for the beds. Just two flat sheets turned sideways. If they skimp on the small things it's a guaranteed they will on the big important stuff. As long the office people collect their bonuses and raisies they will continue to do the bare minimum for their drivers

DO NOT DRIVE FOR COVENANT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!! I’m not going to leave a long drawn out review , because I could go on for days about the unprofessional work environment Covenant has caused . But long story short , they tried to make me pay for a rental car back home from Chattanooga after I was finished with training . They put me on the worst contract imaginable (Dollar General) without giving me other viable options . They never gave me my $5K sign-on bonus (this was 2 years ago) , they continued to pay me the weekly per-diem when I started my contract . And when I finally left the company , they refused to verify how long I had been working for them for me to get another trucking job . Lastly , they attempted to put me on a new contract…but when I got the call , they said I don’t have enough experience to work for them even though I was a former employee for them . Not to mention , they had their attorney call and threaten me with legal action since I resigned before my contract was finished . Just complete and utter dysfunction .

Stopped to get fuel at the TA in Big Spring Texas, one of you drivers decided it was a good idea to take his 30 minute break in the fuel island while I waited behind him needing fuel. I approached the passenger side of his truck and asked him if he was spending the day in the fuel island and he didn't say anything but did roll up his window and continued just sitting there instead of doing the right thing and pull up to the line. Very unprofessional

If you are a new driver with less than 6 months experience….
DO NOT COME HERE!

I’m going to give an honest review here. Some praising, and some cons.
But it’s mostly Cons.

Now, I’ve driven before and waited a couple years to late to have certified experience, so I had to start over; trained with a trainer who was very much concerned with moving (you make your trainer money when you move), so if you still decide to choose Covenant, do not be afraid to make them teach you the ropes of trucking.
And if you don’t like em after a couple days, tell your dispatch to get you another trainer.
Trust me, you won’t get fired.

Another thing, when I first got to Covenant I thought it was odd and cool that there were so many black people working there.
I saw a lot of black faces just sitting around.
Now, I can’t speak for non-black people, but myself.
And what I thought was a good thing, turned out to be misleading.
They have a lot of us, and they take advantage of a lot of us.
Most people who looked like me fspeaking specifically as a black person working there), we were waiting for trucks and trainers for weeks.
When you get there, you have 3 day orientation, then you wait weeks to get a trainer, then after a month with you trainer, some came back to Chattanooga to wait again for trucks.

Now, i’m not saying that other people of different races didn’t have to wait either, but the majority of drivers that flooded the Covenant Hotel and the Covenant lounges were majority black/carribeans and Africans.

Most of the Haitians they hired (Not disrespecting any Haitians) you could tell did not have a well defined understanding of the language.
And I point that out to emphasize Covenant Logistics/Transports motives.
They know that most black people and immigrants let things slide.
They understand the psychology around that, and a lot of the things I heard, dispatch was either downright rude to these drivers, or relied on their ignorance to delay either pay, or didn’t pay them.

Because I was considered a ā€œstudent driverā€ even though I had experience years ago, they TRIED doing the same to me, but I always protested, and protested correctly.

But, for any black person (male or female), or immigrant of black descent; do not come to this company.
They come off as a ā€œChristianā€ based company.
But remember it’s also the south.
These same southerners thought slavery was christian based too.
Not saying this company is racist, but when it comes to there black drivers….
LOOK AROUND and tell me the majority of people you see waiting on a truck or a trainer.

Like I said, I can’t speak for non-black people, and this company may fit you.
But if you’re black (male or female), they’ll screw you over.

Also they’re Covenant Hotels are roach infested, dirty and grimy.
Here are pictures of the Covenant Hotel entrance.
This is your introduction to the place.
