This is a great place to take a walk or take photos. There is a nice pavilion with a fireplace you can rent for events. Every early spring the county has a maple syrup demonstration. It is very educational and worth a visit. There is a large parking lot and pit toilets.

Nice little area! I took my dog around the small loop twice today, but we will be back to do more. Everyone we encountered was friendly and their dogs were all on leash, which is such a nice change from other walking paths I have been on.

One of our favorite little get aways! Real close but very rustic trails. Our dogs love it. They have maple syrup classes in the winter there some years. Check it out some time, it wont disappoint.

We went for the festival of the sugar maples. The tour was so informative and they presented it in a timeline that took you from early settlers to current methods.
The final stop is with a guide who talks about the maple syrup process and shows the equipment they use.
The last part of the tour is a tasting of maple syrup that they made right there at the park. It wasn't like any other maple syrup. It was delicious and complex and had slightly grassy flavor. It was a lot of fun.

This has really great hiking trails and usually isn't too crowded ... Wish people would keep their dogs on leash if they can't control them though.

A wonderful area for volunteering with the McHenry County Conservation District. They have a wonderful, dedicated "guide" who knows the area very well.

Beautiful conservation area surrounded by trees. The McHenry County Conservation District has worked hard to support the native ecosystem in McHenry County and Coral Woods is a perfect example of their efforts.

While the hiking and nature trails are not paved, they are well kept and wide in most places. There are lots of birds for those who enjoy birdwatching.

The trees keep most areas shaded so you're not baking in the sun the entire time.

Plenty of free parking available.

Great trail, always clean. Love there is a police officer there often makes me feel safe when I go hiking with my kids.
We went to the maple which was fantastic learning for our kids and adults!
