I have been kayaking the Coosa almost annually for about 15 years with Coosa River Adventures and have brought large groups with me for company outings, as well as a few smaller groups of friends & family. Chris and Therese are great to work with, knowledgeable and help keep everyone (and everyone's stuff) safe while on the water - or give advice that would if everyone followed it. It is such a fun, full day experience, rain or sine and I highly recommend the float and Coosa River Adventures.

I love this adventure. It is always fun and the owners are very informative and friendly. I would recommend to try it out. I would suggest bringing water to hydrate and sunscreen. My teenagers had so much fun too.

What a fun adventure!! The river was awesome, Chris was super informative, chill and gave the best advice. I was a little nervous about the rapids but am so glad we did it! It was my favorite part of our whole trip. Strong recommend!

I've been to this place about 3 times now and LOVE it. It's even better right after rainy weather because there are some rapids. If you blast through it's about a 3 hour trip but you can stretch it out as long as you are back at 5pm c.s.t. we try to always make it a day trip. Stopping to drink, snack, and swim all along the way. The owner is super cool and you can't beat the price. Just be respectful and have fun!

10 out of 10 experience I recommend going. Make sure you make a reservation tho. The Owners are great. Make the safety meeting so fun. I want to congratulate them on 25 yrs... the scenery is beautiful and it is an amazing fun time. Takes about 3 to 4 hours to get down the river. Thank you guys for the amazing day. As always. It was a blast.

Awesome place. The staff and the guide Chris are awesome but a bit noisy. The old lady giving appointments was really sweet to us. We appreciate their work and helping nature.

Was our 1st kayak trip as a family. We had a blast! Our son 15 is not & can not swim, but no worries the team fits everyone into the perfect life jacket & kayak. Very thorough & fun safety presentation. We got lost a bit from the crowd & had to navigate choosing which side of the river to take during the splits. There are rapids I believe 1-3 class sizes. Most folks I noticed stayed towards the right side of the river, once we got through the splits & could see them. I'm guessing those are the smaller rapids? We did hit 1 class 3 rapid, that flipped me. I rode under my kayak, legs tucked to protect from rocks in Rapids, holding onto my pattle, determined not to lose & be charged for missing equipment. Lol.. The kiddo & hubby didn't flip, but Oh my, it was so hot mid July, I didn't mind!! Riding the river is refreshing & part of the fun! It's a 4 hour trip (or) longer depending on stops. Take lots of sun block, water, pack lunches & yes grab the beer! They hand out nice mesh bags for trash. Don't be a jerk, keep the river beautiful & enjoyable for everyone, for years to come!! I mention taking sunblock, don't put on prior & think your coverd. We were all burnt except our son. We all had sunblock on, but didn't take to re-apply. Definitely a must to do! We are very happy we decided to take this adventure. Visiting our family in the area, as we traveled in from Columbus, Ohio. We will definitely be back!! Thanks to the staff for hosting us, making our trip so memorable & fun. I highly suggest visiting Coosa River Adventures & taking the trip! If you have ever been White Water Rafting, the Rapids are not near as bad, but a whole lot of fun! Some rapids are larger than others. In my experience if looking for the larger ones, hit the left side of the river! Wear water shoes incase tipping so you can grip the rocks to get back in your kayak, buy cheap sunglasses, hats & anything that can be lost in the river. Most of all have fun, laugh, enjoy the ride & flow with the river!! 😉
