The park structure is older but still fun for the kids. The surrounding area with green grass and tall scattered trees offers a nice peaceful, relaxing atmosphere for a picnic or just hanging out with friends. When we visited, there was an event happening. So much fun! I definitely recommend a visit to this nice little park if you have small ones at home. They will love it.

We passed through City Park, on our way downtown since the Y bus stops here. It looks like a nice park with a large playground, clean enough restrooms, colorful picnic tables, lots of open green space, a gazebo, and several stores across the street. Could be a great place to go for an impromptu picnic. Or place to take the kids/grandkids.
My friends and I walked a mile or so through downtown which is adorable to Sailor Jacks for lunch (more upscale seafood on the water). Then we stopped for ice cream at Double Rainbow (super fun decor) on the way back. Bus stop has a covered bench, so you can sit in comfort while you wait.

This is my favorite park playground I've ever taken my kids to. Reminds me of a different time. Let your kids imaginations take the lead. I hope it is maintained and kept for a long time, and never replaced with a plastic sad safe modern playground. It's a must visit every time I'm in town.

Great place to take children. Grandson loved the "castle/fort" looking structure. Lots of ways to climb, slides, play area (sand) and a half block of grass area. Public bathrooms are also available.

The city park playground is uniquely feature with all wood structral in addtion to the sand ground. There are some recycled artifacts such as tractor standout the playground. The adjacent Benicia Main Street has variety of shops, stores and suceeding to the harbor for a pleasant walk. The parking is free but limited as usual in a busy district. The park restroom is well maintained. It is a amazing day outing on the area.

Really nice park, plenty of green areas and tables to hang out with the family. The playground is huge, our girls love it, so many things to do. Very clean throughout, restrooms we're also clean, plenty of street parking, close to all the shops. We'll be back soon.

it is a very small Park but it has lots of shade, a few benches and tables and couple of barbecue pits. There is a huge playground for kids with like a dream. it is located next to a shopping center and next to the street where the old Benicia downtown begins and which goes all the way down to the water..

Some sort of vendor get together. I found a guy and his wife that sold some things he made on a 3d printer, and these great water/juice cups and other crafty stuff his wife made. The next time I see them I'll be sure and get a dragon and a drink cup. Quite talented. The food was too expensive, 7 to 10 bucks for some sort of fruit juice... No thanks... I did manage to find a good truck that sold pork fried rice and 3 fried wings for 10 bucks that served up healthy portions. ... All in all a good day. Oh yeah, the dj was good too.
